ACC fans can quit dreaming about Texas. If the Longhorns go anywhere, it will be to the Pac12. They won't pick the B1G or ACC. The B1G doesn't add any big recruiting grounds, and the ACC doesn't have the same prestige as the Pac or B1G, due to their association with the Rose Bowl and CIC. Also California recruiting is as deep as Texas or Florida, if not deeper...

I wouldn't count on that, Deloss Dodd said his preference is the the Big 12 but if they ever have to move then they will move east & not west. you do know that Texas had talks with the ACC before the Big 12 became stable

Texas also had discussions with the B1G and Pac. But nothing came of any of those discussions...

I don't personally think Texas goes anywhere. the Big 12 offers them a mostly geographic conference(something many under estimate the value of) & currently make more from tv deals than anybody including the SEC & B1G. I was just pointing out that the ACC is a real possibility if they ever decided to move

The Pac makes more from their TV deal than any conference, and adding Texas to the mix would only serve to greatly increase their already huge TV contract. But Texas isn't going anywhere. Why would they move to a conference where they would be just another member, rather than stay where they are the big dog in control...
It appears that Texas/Oklahoma are very comfortable being the Big Dogs inthe Big XII & FSU/UNC the same in the ACC...So the talk of the Four/Sixteen Conferences or this 20 Conference Model should end....

Peoples' exhibit A:
you have to go to about the 19 min. mark & from that point on he describes UT's Big 12 preference along with attempting to get N. Dame in as a partial member & they will look east if they have to move.

The GoR's make all of this talk of movement within the P5 moot. The only expansion will be from non-P5 to P5, and we won't see any of that for years, either.
At this point, I think one can make a good argument that we no longer need a "conference realignment" board ...

I believe it, and it makes sense, because even with the tremendous expansion of ESPN and cable sports broadcasting, OTA on one of the four major networks is still the most prestigious and highly-visible broadcast medium. That's why events like the Super Bowl, NBA Finals, World Series, etc. are all still OTA.

I know they still hope but actions speak louder then words and what Texas and the Big XII did in 2012 & UNC, FSU along with Georgia Tech did in 2013 say otherwise.
In any case it will be about a decade before any possible movement can/will take place.
