$$$ & Facilities tilt strongly in the ACC Favor...3 of the Top 6 in regards to Basketball Revenue are #1 Louisville, #3 UNC & #6. Duke.

Going forward JMO the Top 7 Basketball Leagues:
1. ACC
2. B1G
3. BIG EAST
4. Pac 12
5. AAC
6. Big XII
7. SEC

Regardless of money...I'm talking about long-term success on the court. That's championships, Final Fours, top 10 rankings, etc.

It all tied in...even when Pitino, Coach K, Boehiem & Roy Williams retire due to that factor and the fact that UNC, Duke & Louisville are College Basketball Royalty-(one of 6 Programs with @ least Double Digit Final Four Appearance & @ least 3 NCAA Titles) those schools will have their pick of who they want as a replacement and those fanbases will demand excellence.

I agree, I think overall, the ACC will be the best basketball league after Louisville joins followed second by the Big Ten. The bottom feeders of the Big Ten are just really bad, especially when you add Rutgers along with Nebraska, Penn State and Northwestern.

I think the AAC is ahead of the PAC 12 and the new Big East. Are you kidding 5th? I would also put the Big 12 ahead of the PAC 12

Cincinnati
Memphis
Temple
UConn

Add start ups like

SMU- Larry Brown coach, top 10 recruiting class
Houston- great history, decent team last year, should contend this year

You've made good points with Boeheim, Pitino and Williams set to retire, there goes the league. Those retiring should happen within 5 years. Not sure how Louisville got into NCAA basketball royalty, but I guess your a legend in your own mind too. You're also right in that the programs will have their pick of the litter, but not because of the self proclaimed royalty, but because of money. Money does not buy everything and there is not another coach Pitino out there. SO when he is gone, he's gone and UL cannot hire another one. They can pay alot for someone and if he fails, they will owe large sums of money on his contract until they get it right and find the right guy. We have the right guy for the next 25-30 years and I'm very excited to watch Coach Cronin coach the Bearcats.

WHAT DOES THIS THREAD HAVE TO DO WITH CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT ???

I think the best combo of the two will end up being the ACC in a few years. It's already headed that way.

Don't sell the BiG short here, with Wisconsin, Illinois, Maryland, and Purdue.

I'd still give it to the ACC, but the margin isn't as wide as some might think.

Oh I wasn't just wondering who the Big10 counterpoints to those ACC schools I listed would be. I don't know that much about them.

I'd say the ACC has the best top-4, and the Big 10 has the best next 6:
Wisconsin, Illinois, Purdue, and Maryland are on the same level as Pitt and NCSU. ND, Miami, and FSU are decent, but they're no better than Iowa. Minnesota and UVA haven't done anything since the 90's.

I'd put it this way, Top 4 to ACC

Next 4 down goes to the BiG - Wisconsin, Illinois, Maryland, and Purdue over Pitt, ND, NCST, and FSU

And the bottom 6-7 to the ACC.

Now, if the BiG were to expand with Kansas and Oklahoma, then we have a real battle for supremacy. 03-wink

Cheers,
Neil

What? That's not going to happen.

Why not? How far ahead is football is the BIG now? They've only won one BCS title just like the ACC. What happens if FSU and Miami start producing like they should.... Recruiting is already starting to play out in the ACC's favor just like NFL draft picks. It's only a matter of time.

$$$ & Facilities tilt strongly in the ACC Favor...3 of the Top 6 in regards to Basketball Revenue are #1 Louisville, #3 UNC & #6. Duke.

Going forward JMO the Top 7 Basketball Leagues:
1. ACC
2. B1G
3. BIG EAST
4. Pac 12
5. AAC
6. Big XII
7. SEC

Going forward, there are going to be ten basketball conferences that will get press. I'd rank them a little differently. You're giving the PAC too much credit, and the XII not enough.

1. ACC
2. B1G
3. Big East
4. American
5. Big XII

I would rank them
ACC
B1G
Big12
AAC
Big East
MWC
SEC
PAC 12
A10
CUSA
WCC

I feel the Big 12 Conference will get stronger again in Basketball in the near future.

I agree with your list for the most part but I'm not buying the MWC just yet. SEC and PAC are still better conferences IMO.
