We're adding solid football.

We need some basketball.

I hope your right but I won't believe it until I hear another source.

No way you guys are serious.

EDIT: Tiguar was probably making a general statement. Jokes on me. But still, I'm not up for adding terrible football to get an upgrade in basketball.

I don't mean any offense to Vandal fans but it would be nice if they found a better home for everyone involved and we could add MSU and JMU.

I'll go one step futher. Missouri State has only made the IAA plaoffs 2 times. Once in 1989 and once in 1990. They have 9 winning seasons since 1990, most of those winning seasons are just one game above .500. If the Sun Belt wants a decent basketball program then OK. If they want a football program, then its not Missouri State.

To some extent... We also have a new president that's putting more emphasis on Athletics (and winning) than any other in school history. We just fired our women's bb coach that won the conference last season, as one example.

You obviously don't add us for football, but the potential our program has is excellent.

WE ARE. MO STATE

JMU first, then Mo St. Their football has been atrocious for decades.

Doesn't mean you don't proceed down a sequential list of offers. If JMU says no, then Mo St gets an offer.

It will be hard for programs to turn down the $1.5 million FBS conference payouts that are likely to grow.

At some point, we have to make an add for basketball. Getting Missouri State opens up some potential doors later on should we want to add some non football programs, and could really hurt the Missouri Valley.

Football can be fixed. They are going to do a $40M stadium upgrade. They would be the second FBS school in MO. No brainer.

Very good point. At this point I do not have a preference between JMU and Missouri State.

I want to be a basketball fan but my alma mater just isn't fun to watch and no one cares about them (including the school). Maybe if we were in a conference with some good/profitable basketball programs we could get our program to a respectful place.

We're not even hearing JMU will come in 2015. At least there are Mo State signal fires.

We've added the best FCS programs, adding a program that has two members a bus trip away raises our basketball, draws more for women's basketball than many of our men's programs and is comparable in baseball is a no-brainer decision.

Exactly. I feel like being the 2nd FBS program in the state would only made MSU better. I have a feeling we'd see them grow as a football program and they would immediately bring strong basketball to the belt 03-cloud9

They are my clear 2nd choice. Selfishly would love to have another bus trip vs. a solid football program in JMU, but from an overall athletic program Mo. St. May be the better program.

You would think will all of these attributes, Mo St would have dominated FCS. Turns out they were one of the worst programs.

Has nothing to do with realignment.

Add them now and lets get to rebranding

Since 1985, nine schools have ever won a Gateway/MVFC title, only three of them have won more than 2. It has really been Northern Iowa's league.

RE: hearing MSU willing to listen
I see a bigger plan for the sun Belt Mo State will be what Idaho is filling now. Eventually we will improve our facilities and Either UNM, UH(I), CSU, or Houston might get the call to big boy land sooner than we know. The shake down aint over ACC, Pac 12, B1G, Sec? all have potential moves to make.

Idaho will get the kibbie to 27thousand and join the MTN in replace of one school at some point. I think Texas State likes the Sun Belt and Wont leave for the MTN but UTSA might or Utep, maybe not depending on who is plucked from the top.

So Idaho has a lot of work to do, hope you all can be patient with us we are slow learners. lol
