RE: hearing MSU willing to listen
The lhn flopped on its own it didn't have much to offer, thus making it nothing anyone wanted to pay for. In contract,? The secn is offering much much more. It would be very hard to turn it down. But the point of the post is that the sec negotiated a 50/50 split. Thus beginning to recognize the true value of college football as a product.

But using your own logic, the only quality programming will come from September to December.

And you are underestimating the effect of rival schools lobbying to not carry it in their markets. THAT is what tanked the LHN.

By the same virtue do not believe that UNC-CH will schedule App State until they feel they have to do so.
Everything to lose, nothing to gain.

It would be added as part of a programming package not alone most people wouldn't dropped down a package to avoid it. Also its the sec network not the tide network rival schools are on it. With a few exceptions like Texas and I don't believe they will have the power to keep it off the air. Is the lhn not available in Texas. I can and do get the b ten network in Alabama.

No, most people can't field the LHN in Texas because schools like A&M, Baylor, TCU and SMU have well-connected people who demanded their carriers not carry it.

The same will happen here against A&M.

If you don't think Florida St, Miami, South Florida or Central Florida wouldn't have supporters who do the same, you are kidding yourself.

I would say the same would happen in Georgia with the Bulldogs and Georgia Tech and if the guys on the board are any indication, Georgia Southern, but their household count is smaller.

Comparing the Big 10 network in Alabama to the SEC Network in Texas and Florida is like comparing a calculator to an Ipad, it just isn't the same.

Sorry for posting twice. I meant to post this in this thread originally.

Realignment continues to dominate discussions concerning Sun Belt Conference (Video):

I kinda doubt either of our schools will meet CH on the field. They've already been pressured into playing ECU fairly regularly. Can't imagine they'll let the NC government dictate that they play two in-state schools.

Hope it happens though, for both our schools.

Got to agree that it won't happen any time soon. Neither of us has enough clout with the state legislature to get it mandated.

I'm pro Missouri State. Judging by Arkansas St's reaction this seems to be the only move that will keep that fanbase happy for the time being. Missouri State is a lot easier to market to folks around the country than a school with a funny name like James Madison. It also helps solidify the basketball side of the conference. Looks like they have new leadership that's committed to athletics. Worth waiting till 2015 for. I don't think 2014 is in play anymore.

Well, at least we'd be adding a program that helps guarantee the power programs will be bowl eligible every year. Always a plus side to everything.

Would be good in a way, but hate to think of our two schools having to content with a school that is letting their football players pass "Tic Tac One O One" without having to attend classes. Neither UNCC or App State deserve that.
