RE: App Booster Club Has Record Month After SBC Invite
Last year App athletic scholarship fund raised $2.7M, should crash through the $3M mark this year.

After accepting the Sun Belt invite and announcing an FBS move, the Yosef Club raised over $600,000 in April. Very encouraging news.

Good and bad at the same time. Kind of disappointing when you think back to ODU saying they raised 3.5 million within two weeks of announcing they were going FBS last year. However, remember they thought about it for about a month. The 3.5 million may have been some donors or corporations saying make the FBS decision and we will do such and such.
Still good though.
That is what it was for ODU. While they were weighing the decision, they had some of their big donors commit to donating the funds to make the move.

Does App have any big donors or do you guys mostly rely on a lot of donations from average people?

App has a couple dozen donors that give $10k+, about 600 that give between $2,500 and $5,000, another 600 at the $1,000 level, the remaining 1,800 members give $500 and below. I'd really like to see us grow the smaller donation levels and have 6,000 members.

Maybe we could sign up some Sun Belt posters to give to App State's Yosef Club to ensure we take care of business concerning Georgia Southern each year.

Good idea, albeit unnecessary. We win every year despite exclusively having App fans donating.

Hey, hey, hey! What did we ever do to you? Where is all the negativity toward Ga Southern coming from?

You guys enjoy your charitable gift. Buy yourself something real nice. Maybe a hamster wheel for your pet rock?

Great Information Appy fans. Your fan and community support has been tremendous! I know the move will be just the beginning of great things to come.

Just wanted to put in perspective the ODU - FBS pledge. In the two weeks prior to the BOV meeting, while we were reviewing options before the vote to accept the C-USA Invitation. It was during that two week period ODU raised 3.3 million dollars for the FBS move. Our BOV wanted a commitment that student fees would not go up!

The FBS fund has now grown to about 4 Million.

ODU was also in the middle of a capital Improvement project to build a new practice facility. The BOV wanted to see that this donor campaign would not be impact, because of the move up. Fortunately in the last year ODU has raised an additional 6 Million of an 8 million dollar goal for the practice facility.

We (ODU) are very fortunate to be in a large and vibrant Metropolitan area that boast 5 fortune 500 hundred companies! Several have been very generous to the University as well.

Good Luck App State Fans. I am sure our paths will cross in the future!

I wish that were the case. It's pretty miserable on campus today. Same rain everyone else has been having. We're up to over 4 inches in the past 24 hours and the temp is in the low 50's, up from high 30's. Also had hail today. I'm holding out for snow.

Wow I give a grand a year ... thought that was a low amount. I have always we said we need something like the IPTAY program. I for sure thought we had more people give higher amounts than that.

Maybe this will change. I don't care where I have to park as long as I can see some football!!!

I agree, I have always thought that if we could just get almost everyone to give even a very small amount each year that they would contribute much more in years that they could.
