Looking forward to your annual beating on Black Saturday this season.

Forgive me for scoffing at the arrogance coming from a team that's only managed to beat us once in the past 5 years.

Stay classy.

The playoff brackets were setup to give us a couple more games the past couple of years, but App could not manage to get out of the first round. Could have been a classic. We did our part. Oh well.

It's time for you to join the rest of the world in not giving a **** about the FCS playoffs. Blocked PAT's against ISU aside, we own you.

Taken from an App. Fans Site

Georgia Southern Eagles. ASU leads 14-11-1. Voted the best rivalry in the Southern Conference, the Mountaineers first met the Eagles in 1932 but started playing them regularly in only 1993. These 26 games have been hard-fought and nationally relevant as both teams constantly sit atop the SoCon and FCS standings. The Mountaineers have won two straight in the series. I expect this rivalry to heat up even more as the teams make the jump to the Sun Belt Conference together in 2015.

But if you look at the modern era App. State only leads GSU by 2 games App 12 wins & GSU 10 wins. But still if App fans want to count the wins in the 1930's (All games played in Boone) I guess Ill have to put up with it. I dont see App as owning us based on the Modern era Win / Loss record. No matter all things will be rectified in the next 5 years.03-nutkick

Why not? We were the most hated team in the SoCon and possibly all of FCS football. Seems to work for us! Kind of like people who hated Tiger Woods when all he did was win, or Alabama right now for the same reasons. Southern fans seems to wear that hate as a badge of honor. I can promise you this though... you come to Statesboro, you'll have a damn good time and will be treated with respect and dignity. Might not be the best gameday experience, but it's pretty good and will only get better after we visit some of the SBC schools who know what they are doing!

"Kind of like," in what way?

Alabama has won 2 of 3 national championships. The Stink hasn't won a national championship since Y2K (which are irrelevant to most SBC fans).

Oh, I get it, Alabama has numbers on the side of their helmets. So yes, you're "kind of like" Alabama. 04-rock

So, according to your research: Old Era = App State 2 wins and GSU 1 win, Modern Era = App State 12 wins and GSU 10 wins.

Either way you cut it, App State > GSU.

The fact remains that you haven't done **** in the past 20 years. (ironic after all your selective logic and "modern era" talk)

Luckily for you, our slates are essentially wiped clean with the FBS moves. Now you can focus on acquiring your very first FBS win.

If we haven't done ****, then I guess you haven't either:

1992-2012:

Ga Southern: 185-82 69.3% (10-11 vs App congrats)

NC appearances 6,7,8 NC's 5,6

10 SoCon Titles

25-11 in playoffs

App State: 192-75 71.9%

NC appearances 1,2,3 NC's 1,2,3

9 SoCon Titles

22-13 in playoffs

App had the stability of one coach throughout those years whereas we had six. It'll be curious to see how it goes without Jerry.

What is it with you people and selectively citing time periods? The Stink has had mild success over the past decade at best. How long can you hang your hat on long-forgotten trophies you only acquired because of a novelty offense and a playoff system than only allows a few days to prepare?

When you say your bedtime prayers tonight, you need to thank the good lord he sent App Armanti Edwards. Apps playoff performance post Armanti has been very average. Starting to look more like the high success App experienced was a player and not the program.

3 wins were in the Rube Hatcher/Van Gorder era. Corky and his retard friends could have beat us then.

Time periods are important. No team wins the NC every year. What has App done since the Armanti Edwards era? If you look at total wins in the FCS playoffs, National Championship attempts & 6 NCs since GSU entered 1AA/FCS we stand head and sholders above the rest and this is a cumulative average since 1985.

Yes the 4 year Van Scuction & Hatcher experiment at GSU went sour and sent the program into a downward spiral. Coach Monken rebuilt the team in short order and had GSU in the Semifinals the three years he's been the Head Coach. How has App done in the playoffs the last 3 years?

The battle for the Sun Belt crown and the rivalry between GSU and App will make for interesting Eastern Division games.
