Lachlan Mclean on WHAS-AM is who you are thinking of cavman. However, I would say he is more of a chode than a "popular sports announcer".

I second that. Lachlan "taint" nothing to write home about! 04-cheers

Okay, thanks for the education. We will not consider him to be something we share in common.

Can't wait to see what kind of content the ACC Network will provide. Sooner the better IMO

Lots and Lots of Lax! 04-cheers

Has anyone found this on YouTube yet? I've been looking but can only find a Swofford interview from a year ago.

We ALL don't hate the current alignment. Some of us think it's great!

So he is the typical UVA grad then.

Another thing they have in common is UVa's greatest basketball team that went to the final four in 1981. That team had two starting players from Louisville: All-American Jeff Lamp whose number is now retired at UVa, and Lee Raker. Both were products of Ballard High School in Louisville. A third starting player on that team was Jeff Jones who, although not from Louisville, was from the state of Kentucky.

Don't forget Terry Gates whom was also on that team as well as a team mate from Ballard High school in Louisville with Lamp & Raker. UL almost landed those players. A conflict with Denny Crum and Bobby Knight over recruiting Jeff Lamp had Him off to Virginia and a Final Four team.
Don't forget the classic matchup with Ralph Sampson and Charles Jones whom met a couple of times. 04-cheers
