JMU seems young, at least at key positions. Then we have new coaches. Don't know, I hope we can pull out a win.

Towson is laying the lumber on UConn and Liberty hung very tough with Dri Archer (got injured) and Kent St. JMU's going to need the Akron win just to keep up this year!

Other than QB...what key positions?

Cornerback- starting two redshirt freshman, backed up by a true frosh and the redshirt sophomore transfer from Ole Miss. Between the 4 of them there are 2 games of college experience. Might be some growing pains.

And wide receiver , and actually running back.

Except for that one guy....what's his face? Scott. He's okay and been on the team a few years.

RE: Akron
I only saw the highlights last night but Akron did not look good against UCF. They looked small to be an FBS team. Liberty gave Kent St. all they could handle losing 17-10.

Between Towson and Liberty last night proved once again that FBS is often marginally better than FCS unless we are talking about the top 30 FBS teams.

After seeing Akron get manhandled last night, we better seal the deal on that game. No excuses.

I agree. Akron looked awful and very beatable for even JMU's recent standards. Couple that with Liberty's great performance against MAC runner-up Kent State and Towson dominating UConn and we MUST beat Akron. A loss would be pathetic.

RE: Akron
The thing I worry about is that JMU always seem to fall short when playing FBS teams, except for 2010 VT. Definitely a winnable game, but seems that there are unforeseen mishaps during FBS games.

Don't forget UMD in 09 either...should've beaten them if not for some phantom holding calls in OT.

I really don't think you guys should get your hopes up against Akron...and I think it's silly to think we should beat them (especially since we haven't seen how this current team even plays).
