I'm not the biggest fan of the Eastern Seaboard Promotional Network ... but this is a pretty big deal. Kudos to ESPN.

Yeah, just saw the tweet myself. Great news, especially since we'll almost assuredly be on the road and away from Reckling this year. The down side is one can only imagine how clueless and irritating their 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th tier announcers are going to be (given their top tier college announcers, save for Peterson, are awful and very difficult to take).

Well, you can always turn down the volume and put on JP...

And the good news about that is that you have the TV screen so you know what is actually happening.

Maybe Jose Cruz Jr. will be announcing our games.

ESPN3 one of the few benefits of having Comcast broadband though it won't count if I am away from my WiFi...would much rather have a tie-in via DirecTV that will allow viewing anywhere as you can do for March Madness or the Masters.

I'm betting they do have a special channel on DirecTV that will feature live look-ins at most of the games as action is unfolding. Maybe even more than one channel. But ESPN3 will be the place you need to go to watch a game from start to finish (just my guess).

Will this mean more money to the participants? That's my question.

DirecTV used to partner with ESPN to do a separate tournament package product for the supers. In recent years, ESPN has found a way to spread telecasts among its networks so that it hasn't been necessary.

I'm with Tiki ... we need one for the regionals.

The DirecTV subscription though gets us the ability to watch games on the PC or IPad anywhere not just when home like the arrangements with Comcast and ESPN3 do. But no matter what this is a big step forward for the tourney.
