RE: qb battle
I was generally pleased with the play of both QBs who are likely (right now) to share PT early in the fall. I am still hoping for a more consistent offense to develop in the fall when all the offense is on the same side of the field. The defense did appear to be much quicker and faster than I remember it being last season.

All in all, I can see UAB improving its record to a winning effort in over 1/2 its games. How much our season RECORD improves will be dependent upon how much the opposing teams improve over last season as well. In my opinion, our present cast of veteran players will not be as threatened by incoming new guys this season as they were last year.

To throw in one more thing that I don't recall being mentioned, Brown was out of practice a couple of days with a leg injury. I wasn't sure if he'd play the spring game, he was questionable. Being hurt could have an effect on his performance.

RE: qb battle
Having 2 good QBs is nice. IF McGee plays his cards right, it could be a nightmare for opposing teams. It just can't be a situation were the entire stadium knows the play as soon as QB "A" runs onto the field. I think JP is a good enough passer and Austin is mobile enough when healthy that it could be a big rabbit in the hat for us come fall. This is all assuming both play to potential and McGee can manage it. I don't think he did a great job at QB last year but it's a new season and I'm sure he's learned a lot too. Heres to each of them being at their best and all getting to lead us to multiple victories.

Media interest to create and fuel a controversy.

It was controversial enough last year. Another ship sailed.

Brown always has a leg injury.

If he plays like he did last year I'm gonna give myself a head injury 03-banghead banging it against the wall.

I wasn't able to make the Spring game this year after all. Sad I missed it. Glad to hear JP had a good outing.
