I just looked at the forecast and right now they have 44 as a HIGH on MAY 2!? Really? Come on man. Main reason I hate this area. I don't mind the winters so much rather it just takes soooo long for it to warm up.

The main I reason why I love this area: when the weather is good there is no where else I wanna be. Nothing beats Chicago on a nice spring, summer, or fall day. Love it.

I have been pushing my wife that I want us to move away from here, and actually go further north. I hate the winters here, not because of the snow, but because, really, we don't get much and it doesn't stay long. We pretty much have a winter of mud. We get some snow, and usually it mostly melts in a week or two. I don't like this cold and then kind of warm crap cycles we get over the winter.

Once my kids graduate HS(2 years) I start looking to go somewhere warm year round. I have lived in this area for 33 years..time for something new.

My parents were this. close. to moving to the Raleigh / Durham NC area for retirement. It has great weather, university sports and culture, and cheap housing.

They ended up in Tampa. BOOOOOO!

In a couple of years I might request a transfer to our Tampa or Orlando office. Would love to be by the water.

My folks retired to SE North Carolina...on a golf course, 5 mins from the ocean. They play golf year round....they love it.
