RE: Quincy Taylor leaving UAB
I think we're going to miss Q next year. I don't know what his future holds, but I wish him nothing but the best and thank him for the time he represented my alma mater on the basketball floor.
I'll defer to Haase, because he's the guy whose livelihood depends on these decisions, but I'm at a loss on how to see this as anything but a bad thing for next year's team.

RE: Quincy Taylor leaving UAB
Every collegiate sports team is a different team every year. Graduations, transfers, early exit for the pros, or just plain quitting makes each year's season a challenge for every coach and UAB is no exception. The HC of the team must seek out and find the guys / girls who will provide leadership and team "chemistry" for the particular combination of personalities that he/she has on hand that year. When your team loses a "QT", you not only lose their playing skills, but you also lose their experience in playing the personnel of those other conference teams, the "been there, done that" leader, who can decide how your record goes next season. All of those other teams are probably replacing a few players as well.

And another thing - the team that scores the most points usually wins the game.

My personal opinion which seems to differ from most on here...this is an amazing thing for our squad. While QT was a good kid, he had very little upside on the court aside from his hustle.
I've never seen a D1 point guard dribble the ball off his own feet as many times as QT, and I for one am extremely happy I'll never have to see it again.

Finding out why he left has little to do with how much media cares. We still don't know why Lacey left Alabama. I would have rather he stayed, but hey he didn't. I don't think Haase ran him off, no reason to sign 7 this year when you had 5 for next year in a loaded state class.

RE: Quincy Taylor leaving UAB
I wish I knew why he left, was it personal, family etc...was it the coach...hey you wont get much time next season...was it Q, Coach you know I am kind of tired of Basketball... and those damn Blazertalkers...
I expect it was a hard decision for a senior...and it should have been a hard decision for Coach Hasse.
Although our coach is into his first coaching gig, I expect he is making decision based on years of observing decisions made aT championship programs.
This is a cut throat business, and if you want to be successful, as the head man you have to make you have to make unpopular decisions.
lets wait, and see what his peers have to say...I expect we will hear rumbling. since some here, are on facebook, instagram, twitter, or what ever, and follow these kids..
But the post I will be looking forward to is the one from Q...

Well, I didn't have the time to "GOOGLE" it for your satisfaction.

No one is effing panicking. We are just not acting like it is no big deal and he won't be missed like some of you are.
If he is leaving on his own or for personal reasons, so be it. If he was run off, which seems to be the case or the reason he was leaving would have been reported, then he would have been shown the door because we are gambling that his replacement will be instantly better. If that doesn't turn out to be true, then I equate this episode with Davis running off Reggie Huffman to free up a scholarship for Armon Bassett.

While I think QT would have provided some nice minutes off the bench, I'll take two inexperienced PGs over Quincy. I congratulate him for making a comeback after a serious injury, but his "elevated" play at the end of the season was his ceiling in my opinion. He just wasn't very effective at running an offense, nor was he able to break down defenses and pick up easy points at the free throw line. Best of luck to him.

Wow. It's almost like Q was the only one not having to learn a new system under a new coaching staff, while coming off a catastrophic injury.

My opinion of QT's abilities remained unchanged under XCMD and CJH.
