Rice makes offers to entire Houston Defenders AAU team?
I saw this in my RSS feed this morning, but the blog entry on the Chron website is now gone.

Quote:Yates guard says Rice offered his entire AAU team scholarships

from Rice Owls (Chronicle) by John Brannen
Yates guard Joseph “JoJo” Anderson has caught the attention of colleges with his play for the Lions. But it is his play away from Yates garnering extra attention. After his AAU Read More

Here are a couple of relevant tweets:

I'm not sure if there's anything to it, or if it's a hoax/exaggeration.

There are certainly worse things our MBB staff could be doing.

the Defenders have been run, I believe, by Aaron Harrison, Sr., the father of the 2013 McDonalds AA headed to kentucky. Other recent defenders that I know of include Shaq Clear, who averaged 12 minutes in 37 games (8 starts) for Maryland, and Christian Sanders, who averaged 9 minutes in 26 game (4 starts) for Stanford.

Reasonable to assume that any member of the Defenders could have earned 25mpg+ for last year's Owl team.

From what I've heard, a very large exaggeration and hence why it was pulled from the Chronicle.

Sounds like perhaps he didn't mean it literally...
