I am very proud to announce that my nephew Connor Butler has just been elected President of the JMU Student Duke Club for 2013-2014! Way to go Connor, I am most pleased and happy for you. He also has been granted an internship with the athletic department for the summer, working on events.

This is great news! I really like the idea of getting the students involved now versus waiting until they graduate.

Some of the posters on here were very active in the student Duke Club in the past. Connor will re-capture the spirit and enthusiasm of what it used to be in their glory years. He is a great leader.

If we don't move up to FBS, I will blame it on him!

Congrats to the young man. I honestly do hope they can re-fire what seemed to be a burgeoning group that lost a bit of their Uuumph the last few years. I could be wrong on that, just my [perception.
