CNNSI article - Tuberville looks to build on Cincinnati's momentum
A decent article - but I had to laugh at this -

"We're excited about -- what do you call it? American Athletic Conference?"

I didnt know you could see animals being unloaded at US Bank Arena from an office in Clifton.

I also liked these 2 quotes:

Quote:"As Butch's visibility grew, I kept a three-ring binder of [potential successors]," said Babcock. "Coach Tuberville didn't know he was in there, but once I put him in there, he was the cream of the crop."

Quote:"I've dragged my wife all over this country. She said, 'Listen, if we go, we're not leaving. We're staying,'" said Tuberville. "I committed to her to come here and build this program. If I were to try to leave, I'd probably have to leave without a wife, and I don't want to do that."

It said this right before that:

Quote:Tommy Tuberville currently resides in a condominium on the downtown Cincinnati riverfront

He has been staying in the Adam's Place condos off Riverside Drive just across from Montgomery Inn and down from US Bank arena since he moved here.

I like this approach:

Quote:"We've got to set our philosophy and start recruiting to it," said Tuberville, who again cited his experience at Miami. "Stay as close to home as you can, really evaluate all kids, don't get stuck on reading the lists and the four- and five-stars. Most of the time we were at Miami we weren't ranked that high in recruiting but we were kicking everybody's butt every year. It mostly came from evaluation of players in town."

It remains to be seen whether they can uncover some diamonds in the rough, but at least they won't leave any stone unturned.

Interesting Tuberville is living in a condo in downtown rather than outside the city like UC's previous coaches. If it's permanent, I wonder if the rural setting of West Texas drove him so mad he vowed to never set foot outside of an urban setting ever again.

He bought a house in Indiana in Hidden Valley. Not sure if he plans on keeping the condo downtown too or not.

I would think that place on the river was just temporary while he looked for a house and his family was still in Texas.

As soon as he took the job I thought he would get a place downtown and a place
out West off of 74 heading that way. Wish I was that accurate in the stock market.

Good article. Usually SI has something nasty to say about Cincinnati and the local area. Nice to read something positive

I toured one of those units before settling in Covington...man those are nice.
