I wish App played Charlotte this year. Would be so much fun to watch y'all kick the crap out if Charlotte.

I'd pay good money to watch App State skull drag UNC-Queen City. I fully expect those commuter school d-bags to avoid App like the plague though.

They don't begin play as FBS in CUSA until 2015, I believe.
Yeah I think your right. Either way. I'm guessing they will play some FBS teams next year though?

Really would be kind of sad. Besides then Charlotte wouldn't have anything to talk about.

Actually they will be 1st year transitional. They didn't formally sign the papers until after July 1, 2012. Making them eligible for the playoffs last year since they didn't sign exra recruits.

They were really good in original CUSA basketball for about 7 years or so. Since they got the boot for not having football they fell of the map. They're also good at soccer. 03-lmfao That's where most of the arrogance comes from.

I know but in doing so it actually gives them advantage of signing players for actually two classes of FBS players. They are technically 1st year FCS transitional, but have been accepted and transitioning for an extra year almost. That's why I signified 2nd year FCS transitional. They may have not had extra players but got to sign some into a year earlier class of FBS players.

Haven't even seen Charlotte fans say we'd dominate anything, although several fans are optimistic about soccer and basketball (following the surprisingly solid season this year).

What about your boy over on the CUSA board posting that SBC teams have nothing to offer as potential for CUSA? That is funny since the majority of the CUSA new additions came from the SBC.
Arkansas State and Louisiana would ***** slap you guys right now without a doubt.
It seems he had better not throw stones living in a glass house.

We actually don't know who that guy is. Everything he posts is retarded even when it is positive about the school. He doesn't post on our regular forum.

He's not wrong though. They don't really offer anything that makes it worth going to 16. Arkansas isn't really a recruiting haven that I'm aware of and we already have La Tech in Louisiana.

If we had a need to add schools, they'd probably be my top two choices, but as it stands, they don't offer anything that makes it worth going to 16.

Really? You WISH and I mean WISH you were in the same league with ECU, UCONN, Navy, Cincy, Houston USF UCF Tulsa etc. Throw Memphis and Temple in for basketball it's a damn good league if you ask me. That's some weak smack dude. And dumb too.

Ya think?!
Did it occur to you that there is a difference between the most sucessful FCS program in history, and a new start up at a school with little to no athletic history?
Rube.
No football history. We have a fair amount of athletic history. All of our recent success though comes in golf and soccer...sports that get about as much national attention as FCS football.

Successfully transitioning to FBS in the first year is incredibly rare. If App and GaSo compete for a SBC title in their first years I'll be shocked.

No reason why a start up program has to be all that far behind the illustrious histories of App & Ga So. ODU was competitive at the FCS level in only 3 years and I firmly believe that five years from now they'll be a better program than both App and GaSo. Of all the FCS addition CUSA and the SBC made, I think they were the best one.

The problem is CUSA expanded without paying attention to the 12 team $12 million ceiling put into effect by the media and the big boys. Now CUSA is regretting taking on additional mouths to feed.

This is a really tired line. Nobody knows what CUSA regrets of doesn't regret. Just because some SBC fans think it doesn't make it so.

RE: Charlotte fans
Ok, after a couple of months of lurking, I'll go ahead and make this my first post.

Why, after watching Ga State get run out of just about every stadium they played in (including the dome) over the last three years, would anyone think that an upstart program can win 7, 8, or 9 games in their first year?

And believe it or not, I don't mean this reply as an insult to Ga State. I'm saying it because it doesn't matter if you have an FBS monicker by your name, you still haven't played a single game...meanwhile every one of your opponents (who have at least 50 players with multiple college games under their belts) are going to be licking their chops to beat an "FBS" team.

It doesn't matter if Charlotte has more "scholarship" players. Ga State played a number of teams that had zero scholarships, and yet they still lost. You don't just show up and win because you decided one day to start a football program, then hand out scholarships to 85 people.

I don't know. Call me crazy. But I just don't see them winning more than 2-3 games. Doesn't matter if you've heard of them. Ask Ga State what a Lambuth is.

And sure UCONN Cincy and USF want in a power 5 league so do WE! But like us they are in the next best place. And if our league is a sh** hole please tell me WTF C-USA version 3 is??
