Damn, Mr. Home Depot Man doesn't spare any expense for the home team huh? With the jewel of the Nile he wants for a new stadium, you'd think they'd be hooked up a little better in there.

He doesnt own the Dome. The State of Georgia does. He has a lease just like us. I am sure the new place will have some major upgrades but most stadium locker rooms are somewhat spartan. The nice stuff is usually saved for the football complexes.

Wow! How bad was the locker room at Fulton County Stadium?

Wraith knows that, he is referring to Blank not spending a lot on the locker room. He does make improvements to the Dome on his own dime.

That is surprising.

App's locker room looks like a ski resort.

Hey, thanks, HC for posting that. We should break all of our attendance records this year.

Which three games do you see on the schedule that will draw 26,784?

On Sat., Sept 14 - USA vs. Western Kentucky
(Bama @ TAMU)

On Sat., Nov. 2 - USA vs. Arkansas State
(Bama has open date)

On Sat., Dec. 7- USA vs. UL Lafayette
(Bama's reg. season complete week before)

If the weatherman is kind to us we should have large crowds at each of these games. I think we have a good chance of beating the 26,784 when we host the Ragin' Cajuns. The season's average should break any season before.

It'd be nice, but the only way that happens is if we are somehow contending for the conference title.

Ya I would be surprised to see numbers like that for those games.

Our attendance this year will not be good at TROY. Savannah State and a game with Texas state on the FRIDAY after THANKSGIVING!

Our game with UAB will draw over 20k and our game with USA will draw atleast 25k

I hardly think South will be contending for the title, but I do believe we will be much improved over last year. Much improved.

I feel like South Alabama and Texas State could be the dark horses the year. Though somebody will inevitably say ULM is the one true dark horse.

We brought a few thousand to Monroe last year. If the season is going as well as we expect, I think you could see comparable numbers for a trip to Mobile. The drives are comparable. Monroe is shorter but has many hicktown speed traps. Mobile is interstate all the way.

Plus USA and UL have had an historic rivalry in baseball and basketball, so you can see a lot of interest from both sides for this game.

You can count myself plus a few others to be there. It will be an easy sell to my friends because I'll tell them that we can get a few cases of Yuengling on the way back.

Stop by the package store at Cottage Hill and Hillcrest for a good beer selection. One of the few in the area to carry Back Forty Truck Stop, which I highly recommend. Brewed in Gadsden, AL.

RE: List Your Three Largest Attendance Home Games Ever
Just a quick note: our second highest attended game (30,931 vs Wofford on Oct 31, 2008) was on a Friday, so decent attendance can happen on weekdays too.

However, I will readily admit that Fridays are easier than Tuesday or Wednesday games for attendance.

Noted.

Yuengling is a big deal here, because it's an east coast thing with its furthest westward distributing being Tennessee and Alabama, so a lot of beer fans around here can never get it. The closest place is the AL/MS border. Most people around here who do get it usually buy it on their way home from vacation or business in Alabama and Florida.

You must be getting some bootleg stuff because the website says, "Yuengling is currently distributed in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Alabama."

And the beer locator on the website yields no results when I type in some Texas zip codes.

This forum needs a beer thread. Or if it already has one, someone please point me to it.
