RE: NBR: Troy Stadium Expansion
This is a pretty amazing thread. GSU gets similar media treatment in Atlanta. It seems like the media takes particular joy in our foibles. The other SBC schools seem to be in love with GaSo and App State but much like the Atlanta media, keep telling us we need to put butts in seats and that they are unconvinced we can draw fans in Atlanta. It wasnt until I read this thread that I remembered that our three biggest crowds ever were...

30,237
26,273
18,921

I am betting most SBC schools cant touch those first two. Its funny how hate begets perception which becomes perceived reality

Troy is ALLOWED to construct and/or expand, without the approval of a governing board of Alabama alumni.

The ONLY effective marketing strategy for UAB to become permanently successful at substantially increasing attendance figures, is IF the Board of Trustees ALLOWS UAB to build a NEW ON CAMPUS STADIUM. A new on campus stadium will DEFINATELY attract more current fans, and a plethora of new fans, as well.

Stop beating around the bush.

What a great idea!

I wonder why nobody's thought of it.

Gorilla as Homeland Security Director: "What we really need to be doing is stopping the terrorists!"

Gorilla as basketball coach: "If we put the ball thru that hoop, they will give us more points."

Why do ballerinas stand on their tiptoes?

Why don't they just get taller dancers?

I will only accept that winning will not work as a successful marketing strategy for getting more fans to come to Legion Field when it is done and it fails. Until UAB gets a "green light" on its OCS, we have Legion Field as our "home field", like it or not. The city's MPF may happen before that "green light" appears from the west.
