Cingrani tonight
He's gotten out of a few jams but the game is currently 1-1 in the bottom of the 4th. Former Aggie Justin Ruggiano hit a homer off him in the 4th for Miami's lone run.

RE: Cingrani tonight
Cincy gives Cingrani a few runs to work with in the bottom of the 4th and the Reds now lead 5-1. Tony's line thru 4 - 4 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6 K's, 81 pitches. Hopefully he can go 5-6 innings and get the win.

RE: Cingrani tonight
He gets pinch-hit for in the bottom of the 5th but he's done enough to get the win if the Reds can hold onto a (now) 6-1 lead. Very nice outing for Cingrani - 5 IP, just the 1 run and 8 K's.

Another well-pitched game by Tony, but he's currently on the losing end of a 1-2 score vs. the Cubs. He gave up a 2 runs, including a solo HR, in the 2nd inning....but his overall line was excellen: 7.0 IP, 5 hits, 2 runs, 0 BBs, 9 Ks, 99 pitches/66 strikes.

Off the hook for the loss and now has an ERA of 2.25. Tonight he threw 99 pitches 66 for strikes an amazing ratio.

RE: Cingrani tonight
Tony got roughed up a little today, giving up 4 ERs in 6 innings of work. That said, he only gave up 3 hits (2 of them HRs)! Cincy rallied to bail him out with 4 runs in the 8th and keep Tony from taking a loss.

He threw great/awful breaking balls today. One of the homers (both by Soriano) came on a FB the other on the second of back to back CH. After the second homer he really locked in. For the first time he looked a little flustered after plunking a hitter (and almost hitting the previous one) on CB (they kept saying sliders but today it had more of a downward tilt to the pitch) and then after the second HR.

Corky Miller is still with the Reds and caught Tony again today which I think is a huge plus. Veteran "Crash Davis" type of catcher. He played at Nevada Reno until 1998 with us just missing him since Reno joined the WAC in 2000.

Great write-up on Tony's background / history, from H.S. to Rice to the bigs.

Another good (new) write-up for Reds homepage, concerning his prospects, along with an interview with The OG regarding the Rice days. Also some good PR for Rice, although they did get the championship year wrong (2005).
