I know fertilizer is flammable and dangerous but the images from that town are simply astonishing.

Sad how much less attention this is getting than the Boston stuff. On here and in the media. More deaths in Texas and more injuries too. Not to mention all of the houses and businesses that were destroyed.

The Boston issue is the more "sexy" story. I agree in a sense. On one hand the Boston deal is bigger because it is terrorism at its finest and that will scare people more and drive ratings more...plus justice needs to be served. I am like you though, this story needs some attention. It is just devastating to see.

Read somewhere on the internet that the plant had too much Amonium Nitrate on the plant. According to what I read, they are supposed to report to the Homeland Security if they have more than 400 pounds of the stuff in one location. They had 270 tons...read that again...270 tons.

The article said they were not even on the radar of Homeland Security...they did not even know they existed.

They are supposed to self report their stocks but never did. That is some scary stuff.
