Cato is going light ECU up. It's gonna be really really really funny.

He already lit us up last year, but we still won the game...

Code:
Marshall    C/ATT    YDS    AVG    TD    INT
Cato        31/40    318    8.0     5     1
East Carolina    C/ATT    YDS    AVG    TD    INT
Carden           38/47    439    9.3     3     0

Thinking we have a good QB does not make us delusional. Thinking that it does makes you delusional though.

Cato sat out the entire 4th quarter too....Who knows what would have happened if he wasn't hurt.

To be fair, he had to miss most of the 4th quarter and both overtimes. Though Frohnapfel filled in just fine going 12-15 for 101 yards 1 TD 1INT, plus 8 carries for 62 yards and a TD.

ECU in Huntington should be fun. Let's see if either can find a defense this time.

Refeernce the questions on Heinicke:

He is listed at 6'1" and 195. He knows how to find the open lanes. He completes 69.5% of his passes, and I would be willing to bet that roughly half of his incompletions are throw aways. His freshman year he had 22 TDs to one (1) interception. Last year he threw for over 5,000 yards with a 730 yard game and was named the outstanding offensive player in the FCS (The Walter Payton Award - FCS equivalent of the Heisman). He is the real deal, and I would take him against any other quarterback in the conference.

We have a freshman coming from the Houston area that looks like a Heinicke clone. He will probably redshirt this year, but it looks like ODU is set at quarterback for a number of years.

Yep, the way Cato was going before the injury he was going to throw for 500 and 7 TDs against ECU. They couldn't even slow down our #2 QB. It will not be pretty for them in Huntington this year.

I'm looking forward to whatever lame excuses you have after ECU beats Tulsa for the 4th straight time.

UAB's Austin Brown made the all-conference freshman team despite not starting the first quarter of the season.

No mention of Marshall's inability to stop ECU. I think your glasses an may have green shades.

Should be a fun build up to the game since its the last week of the season. Lots of trash talking going to be taking place I'm sure.

I don't know whether it would have made a difference... your backup was very impressive too, IMO. Anyway, while I normally want USM as our season finale opponent, this is a great year to have Marshall to close out the season... it should be a great game.

Well, we have options.

Berglund is a star in the making and needs to be starting. Even in the Spring Game, you can tell he's the type of guy who will go out and make plays to win the game. But he's a little wet behind the ears. Either way, star in the making.

Thompson still sucks.

McNulty looked good, he has potential as well.

Whoever plays the best will win the job. I think Berglund starts for us because Mac has no trust in DT.

No mention because Marshall's inability to stop anyone went without saying last year. No green shades about it, we sucked. That's why the DC resigned the morning after the ECU game.

Cato loses Dobson and Wilson but still has Shuler. We added two transfer receivers from Penn State that looks like they'll produce well.

Devon Smith-

Shawney Kersey-

I think Devonte Allen and Demetrius Evans will step in also. We were and are deep at WR.

Here is the truth, in 2011 our D- was ranked 59th in the nation and we held ECU to 27 points. Last year our D- was ranked 110 and let ECU score 65 points.

Cato in 2011 help lead the Herd with 34 points against ECU, after our new O- installed we scored 59 on ECU. We are still going to run the same O and still have dangerous WRs and 3 matured Sophomore RBs in Grooms, Watson and Butler.

If our D- is just somewhat better we beat ECU easy. I love it when people even think about questioning ECU some of their fans come unglued to the point they take it personal.

Here is a fact if Cato is in the game on Nov 30th he will light your D- up.

Pretty sure every statement you made about Marshall we could make as well. We dropped 65 on you last year, so if our defense just shows a pulse against the pass we could beat you down. Carden has the best group of receivers in the conference to throw to and a 1000 yard rusher in the backfield. I'm not concerned about anyone in this leagues defense, especially Marshall's.

Cato is 1-1 against ECU, including getting knocked out of last year's game. Why the confidence in Cato and Marshall to have a defense that can stop Carden and ECU, but not other way around?

Shouldn't you be more worried about Tulsa's trip to Greenville anyways?

Shouldn't certain MU posters worry about having a winning season first (5-7 ....in 2012) before talking snack about beating all other teams and winning Cusa football Championship....only one second place finish in its Cusa football 8 year history ("ifs and buts were fruits and nuts then every day was be Christmas for certain MU posters"....Again, who is delusional??????? Also ECU QB Carden is 1-0 against Mu and should have an outstanding junior season with the talent ECU has back at receivers and running backs (Directed ECU to Cusa east division co-champs 7-1 record in 2012).

That's the great thing about football, last year has nothing to do with this year. What ECU fans seem to ignore is that things change each season. Wait till they see all these high 3 star and 4 star guys we were propping and red shirting last year hit the field on D. And it's not about star rankings, I've been watching them play the last three weeks. It's night and day from last November.

We're looking a little green.

Two RS-Freshman, and a transfer, believe he'll be a RS-Sophomore or Junior when we start playing. He transferred from UNC-Pembroke, and is a back-up.

Matt Johnson takes most of the first team reps. Believe he's about 6'2" 210 lbs. Read option/spread guy. Likes contact, needs to learn he's not playing HS ball anymore though when it comes to contact. Seems like a good kid though and could be good.

To be honest, most Niner fans would like to see a transfer from a D-1 school with experience come in at least for year one. Would help with the start up, and would help tutor these guys as to what they're going to see.

You could always go the JUCO route at the QB position. It worked pretty well at ODU. I look forward to our upcoming game.
