You keep your Bigoted Phoenix Online. Liberty has no votes and no support at this time by Sun Belt presidents.

Z, you obviously know about as much about Duck Dynasty as you do ULM. WIllie went to ULM and is a good supporter of ULM. Willie is the CEO and main character if the show. His dad, Phil, was the QB at tech and liked hunting better than tech, so he quit football. Also, it is my understanding ULM doesn't use the full 3 percent now. We have been complaining about that for years. Our corporate donations are at an all time hi. I'm tired of your anti-ULM rhetoric lately.

And this is the often ignored reality. No FBS conference public school president is going to have a yes vote for Liberty on his record. None.

Who is going to Liberty? Anybody in the SBC schedule them?

Ah. I thought I saw an episode and they had ULM stuff around. My bad

Could very well have. One of the brothers played QB at Latex.

Z

I dont know where that number came from. someone listed all the budgets on another forum and I remember it being higher than 8 mil because uta's is 9-10 mil and we are the lowest in the belt but dont have football to pay for.

ULL and tech fans seem to always think they know more about our university than we do. It gets old but we're used to it. It's their dream come true for ulm to drop down, but my understanding is it is not likely. Enrollment is said to be increasing, along with donations, and all revenue streams. Also, Willie is a ULM grad and supporter, his dad played QB for tech.

It was my understanding (granted, I never bothered to research, so it's all "friend of a friend" information) that all his boys went to ULM.

And while I'm sure that the money is just as green, I don't know about playing in Duck Commander field... That might sound odd.

Far from it. I was disappointed that we lost UNO as a member becuase I enjoyed that rivalry.

But that all being said, I'm not interested in pushing your program down. You've got every right to chase your dream.

But if you read the link in the original thread, when you've got GaSo fans questioning you, you've got to recognize that you've got problems.

The state of Louisiana allows each school to transfer 3% of their general fund to athletics (includes money from the state).. This will come to an end in the near future. This will put them under 6 mil.
You cannot run a 1A athletic program with 6 mil.
Our state is fighting budget issues just like everyone else. They will not get any help.
At this time, they will have NO choice but to move down to 1AA

It is a reality.

Z
Your numbers are wrong athletic budget is 8.3 after you take out the 3% transfer of the general fund(which we do not take full advantage of).

ULM has had the worst athletic department in the Sun Belt since 2001 which would likely put them in the running for worst athletic department in FBS. I'm pretty sure they can count their SBC titles(in all sports collectively) on one hand with fingers left over I believe.

They better get everything they can out of Browning and hope that builds some momentum. I wouldn't wish a program dropping down on anyone, but I honestly think without a drastic turn around that the Sun Belt might be better off without ULM. Sorry to the handful of good Warhawk fans that post here, I hope for your sake that I'm wrong.

Just don't see any sense in tiptoeing at this point. I have no ill will towards ULM, the one time I traveled there for football I had a blast(granted it was much to do with us winning the game on a kickoff return in the final seconds of the game) and hope for their fans sake they figure it out, I would be devastated if MT ever moved down.

So are you guys going to take Liberty? Please?

I'll throw in a diploma from LU as a token gift, they tossed 4 in my window when I drove through Lynchburg.

There is a difference between flaming and stating facts.

The fact is that ULM has a tiny budget now. If the state eliminates the 3% that state schools are allowed to use for athletics, their budget would would look more like a D2 budget than that of a D1A School.

Maybe they will turn it around. If they do cannot infuse some private money, I do not see how they can survive, much less compete as a D1A. If the SBC had a school applying for membership whose budget was in the 10-11M range with no assurance of an increase, how much consideration would they get?
