Also, here are the renderings for out upcoming additions. Still no timetable set. Also, disregard the track. Priority one is to remove it. It's only in this render because they used a real picture from which to build.

Anyway, I don't see why they woudln't be able to get it done by the start of the 2014 season. The FOC building would take longer than the seating expansion. I think the deck itself is actually only about 4,000 seats.

I'm telling you all though, not that it really matters, that original picture doesn't do any justice at all to Paulson. Come for a visit, it really does have that "prettiest little stadium in America" feel to it when you're there for a game.

I saw Paulson for the first time when we played last season, and it was much smaller than I expected from seeing pictures. The gradient of the seating is flatter than any stadium I've ever been to.

I rank Tx State at the top. AppState in top 3 for sure. Comparing all I'd put both GSU's near the bottom... one because they use the Ga Dome, and the other because it needs a major, major renovation and expansion.

Tx State
Troy
AppState
AR State
USA
ULL
ULM
NMST - Sure hope they can spend some money and grow some grass
GSU - Statesboro
Idaho - Please upgrade
GSU

WKU is leaving so unranked.

The slope isn't very steep, you are corect about that. As for the size, I've been to more games there than anywhere else...so I'm just biased on it of course. It isn't the biggest by any means, just the atmosphere is what I like about it.

True, but to be honest I wasn't too impressed with the atmosphere based on what I expected. It was refreshingly lively for a SoCon venue of course, but it fell well short of Kidd Brewer and every other FBS venue I've been to as far as noise goes.

There was one moment, when we were backed up to the 1" line (after most of you think Jamal should have been called down for a safety) where I was impressed with the noise. But Jackson's 60 yard pass to Price put a stop to the momentum.

On a side note, I was treated like a king by some alumni. Overall great experience, and not just because we won, but I felt like the atmosphere had been exaggerated by GaSo fans online. Especially since this was the biggest homegame of the year for you guys.

Well, some folks just can't be pleased I suppose. I've actually never been to Boone. I'm hoping to make my first trip this year.

RE: Favorite Stadium of the SBC.
I think Texas State has a nice looking stadium. Other than the Georgia Dome I have never been to any other stadium so I can't give a fair assessment. I will be able to give more insight after I travel to some away games. The Dome has a nice atmosphere when the lower bowl is full. Plus if the Panthers are sorry I can drink six dollar beers until I stumble on to Marta and go home avoiding a DUI. Once we play in the Trillion dollar stadium with the retractable roof I shall enjoy myself more-so.

If I remember correctly the plans are to eventually raise the press box as well and add another level of seats on that side of the stadium.

Based on the rendering, it looks as though the people in the back row, left side, bottom will have a hard time seeing much of anything... Maybe the angle is different than it appears though.

You guys really need to expand quickly in order to compete. I think you will have a hard time winning recruiting battles against the Sun Belt and other FBS schools if your facilities are that far behind. Not smack talk, True Facts man.

I can and have been pleased by other schools' venues. I just made the mistake of comparing Paulson to KBS. No offense intended, just making an observation.

Paulson isn't as loud as I expected.

Paulson isn't as loud as I expected.

Simple explanation for that. I started sitting inside in a box-seat instead of on the bleachers.

I be loud.

We know. Exactly why students voted to raise student fees and have stadium expansion plans. Ground breaking should happen the week after we hold graduation in that stadium (barring Board of Regents approval). They will continue construction through our 2013 season and the seats are expected to be ready by the start of our 2014 season. The new Football Operations Center is expected to be ready then too, which will have new locker rooms / weight rooms, the whole 9 yards for football operations. We've been preparing for this move for a while now, I think our guys know what they are getting into. Facts. :)

It is already happening. Look at my previous post. A seating expansion is set to begin within a month along with a 50,000 square foot fieldhouse. Paulson Stadium will be every bit on par with other conference facilities by the 2015 season at the latest.

I saw your previous post and I hope it does happen. You will have to forgive those of us who have a "wait until you see it" mentality. Everyone in the conference has a renovation plan and a computer model. With stAte's new indoor practice facility, I will feel much better once I see a bulldozer moving dirt.

With $ in hand (the hardest part of the project), we are way beyond PowerPoint presentations and ideas. This project is not a matter of "if", but "when", and that is very soon.

Here is a recent update to the campaign.

I think it easily goes without saying that we all would feel a lot better as well when we see some dirt start moving. I know I will. I don't doubt at all that it is happening, just feels better when you see it get started.

Just a visitor to your board...

I think TX ST has the nicest Sun Belt Stadium....seen it in person, very impressive. They need to bowl in the side closest to the athletic complex all the way up to the complex. The only (minor) drawback is that their stadium stops on the 5 yard line on (I think) the south side.

Georgia Southern has the flattest stands I have ever seen. Why was this done? I think they would be better off making their stadium into a bowl. It looks like the land is already laid out to accomplish this. Why make an upper deck when you can make a bowl much cheaper.

What was the reason in making ASU's press box small and skinny. Looks kind of wierd.

ULL's stadium looks like it could be easily bowled in, with all the people sitting on the berms. Any talk of that.

I probably like Troy's second best. The double decker, bowled in stadiums look and feel big time.

Just a couple comments from an outsider....please don't take offense.

As a visitor I'll excuse your confusion, we are Georgia Southern, not Georgia State. The grassy hills on the side of our stadium are a big part of our game day atmosphere (for kids to play on, etc.). I think the idea is to keep those around as long as we are able until expansion forces us to close it off and add more seats.

I have no idea why they decided to build at such a low gradient, it makes the stadium look smaller than it is. The upper deck expansion and heightened back rows of the first level will fix that problem pretty quickly.

The bowling end of the SEZ will be done when attendance warrants. (or the funds are all in place, I forget which)
Some say it will be started next season (2014-15) but we'll have to see. There will be a 3rd deck added to the east side and 2nd deck suites meeting up with the EZ complex, on both sides.

Yes, I realized my mistake. Sorry.
