JMU Family at Boston Marathon
Boston may seem far away for some of us, but I know some current JMU athletic training students and alumni who volunteered as medical support for the race. Thankful they are all ok and are helping out.
Lets keep the victims and our JMU family that are affected by this tragedy in our prayers.

Hopefully all those involved will make it through okay. Never understood how people can do such terrible things to others.

Let's hope the FBI can quickly identify and bring the sick individual(s) responsible for this cowardly act to justice.

Some good news. WHSV stated that there were people up there associated with JMU, but all are okay.

They were athletic training students and the interim program director for athletic training. They were there to provide medical support for the runners.

RE: JMU Family at Boston Marathon
My 79 year old grandfather was running the race. My grandma was at the finish line waiting for him. Fortunately he was still about an hour out, and my grandma is okay, but scary, scary and tragic stuff. Especially for anyone who has run a race and knows how exposed you can be out there.

Glad to hear that your grandparents are okay, especially your grandmother who was near it all.

+1
As the carnage is shifted thru by the FBI, you've got to believe that there is security video covering all the streets leading too and from the location of where the bombs were dropped. The sicko(s) responsible for this senseless, evil act will be found and brought to justice.

RE: JMU Family at Boston Marathon
Listening to the various Boston officials commenting on the cowardly bombing...
My first guess is this is a domestic act...it was timed for Patriot's Day, the anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing, Tax Day, and in Boston, the home to the original "Tea Party"...some wack-job was trying to strike out against the American system of government by killing innocent people.
While the sick act is a sad commentary on our country's history of violence...I believe the real measure of the American spirit is the response by the rest of American society to this act. The American people will not let any single wacko (or cluster of sickos) intimidate us, and we the people, will prevail.
I'm also reminded of the Beatles song Revolution...and in particular the lyrics..."We all want to change the world, but when you talk about destruction, don't you know you can count me out"

True, but Patriots day actually is April 19, it was observed yesterday so that a 3 day weekend could be made out it. Similiar to Memorial Day actually being May 30, but not always observed on that date.

Good words here. What a terrible act, but what a pure display of love for others to stay in harms way not knowing if more bombs would go off to help their fellow man.

I didn't say there were on the same date...as I understand yesterday's bombing and the OKC bombing both fell on "Patriot's Day" which varies as to the calendar date.
