I thought I read in a media report somewhere that Aresco was letting Boise State go at $2.5M, but it appears he wants the whole thing. I don't understand how he expects even the $2.5M number now, given how drastically the league has changed.

The heck with Boise State. I view them as one of the bad guys in realignment. They used the WAC, Big East, Moutnain West, Big West, and SDSU until they recieved a deal they liked.

I say we hold them to the whole $5MM. First, it's really peanuts. Second, Boise's departure was one of the dominoes that devalued the conference.

The fact is that Boise USED us and they want it to be free... The fact Boise can't even see it's way to paying the measly $5MM is just more proof what type of character they are.

Can you guys cash checks for the Big East? Or is the Big East going to start playing football to hold them to it?

I'm not going to sit here and trash Boise like I'm sure most of the AAC fans will, they got a great deal from the MWC and when they offered that deal they absolutely should have gone back, but the league should absolutely try to get every penny they can from them and everyone else who has left the league. Can't be setting a precedent that you would let people out of the fee, and the fees are what will allow the members of this league to stay as financially competitive with the power conferences as possible for the life of this TV deal.

Nothing will come of this.

Ahh, the proud Big East, er, AAC tradition of filing lawsuits. Boise would have been a good fit after all!

Sour grapes? Boise State has been upfront with all of their partners, past and present. There are a lot of universities that have been involved in realignment that definitely cannot say that.

Boise State is a valuable commodity. In a free market, supply and demand dictate the outcomes. Dr. Kustra had discussions with Big East brass about staying committed, despite the radical changes that had taken place; they decided not to match the Mountain West's proposal. That doesn't make Boise State the bad guy.

False. The "actual" Big East is now the AAC. It is the same organization. Another conference was formed and bought the Big East name, but that is a separate conference. Structurally the Big East became the AAC.

Gotta say, I think BSU loses this one

What did TCU pay? Settle at that number before we waste any one's time.

Can we get all the BSU suit threads merged into 1?

$2.5M if the AQ was lost. $1M if revenue dropped 25% from year-over-year from 2011-2012 to 2012-2013.
