It would be very good karma to go to the national championship game this year. It is the 50th anniversary of our small school championship which led us to D1 and a National Championship could lead us to the big time. Hope springs eternal.

It's not so much "a strong supportive fan base" for the Cubs as it is a bunch of folks who like drinking and the idea of a unique ballpark. How many "Cub" fans even know the roster. As long as the beer is cold, they show up, most of them don't even expect the team to win, they're content to tell people they went to Wrigley and had a good time.

A Cubs game is just something to do between an early afternoon at Murphy's and an evening at Cubby Bear.
