Some folks on here complain about "sightlines", what does this mean exactly?

I've never had a problem seeing the action at US Bank Arena.

To even say that it is on the same level as US Bank is ridiculous. The scoreboard at US Bank me be a bit out of date, but at least it has a video board on it. The scoreboard at the Gardens looks like a Litebright.

Well that explains the urine smell.

Since US Bank is oval-configured, I would (perhaps overly simplistic) assume that those sightlines are superior to the Shoe, which is rectangular.

I guess, other than those seats in the upper corners, where people have to constantly turn their necks, who knows?

The endzones are far away from the action for basketball games at US bank and it is difficult to see. Pretty typical for hockey arenas. Any seats from the sides are fine, and there are a whole lot more of them.

Right, but any seats behind the basket are crappy, as are seats furthest from the action (obviously). I'm just asking because every time US Bank Arena is discussed people, Jackie in particular bring up "sightlines", I'm just not really sure what he and anyone else has a problem with. Just curious because I have never had a problem.

RE: Rumor: UC Basketball to US Bank Arena
I've noticed that for basketball, the court is plopped down on a concrete slab shifted toward the northern side where the benches are located, so unless you're fortunate enough enough to sit on that side somewhere between the benches, you're basically in a corner or endzone, and if on the other sideline, you're much further away from the court than would be the case at the Shoe. Instead of mobile tiered seating for the size discrepancy between a basketball court and hockey rink, like most other multipurpose arenas, there's a bunch of folding metal chairs lined up at each end of the court on the flat floor. I pity people there who aren't tall.
If the plan was to gut the place and make it a basketball palace with seats right down to the edge of the floor I would look upon it more favorably, but I'm sure hockey fans would get upset with that kind of set up.

As long as US Bank is used for hockey it will lack as a basketball arena. The seats start too far away from the court. That said, wake me when someone actually commits to dropping 100M in that hole. I just don't see it.

Agree. The seats behind the basket are just too far away from the action. After the last conference tournament UC played at US Bank where I had seats in the "curve", I have not attended another game at that venue unless my seats were between the baskets. And won't in the future.
