ULL's season derails after an early season loss in Statesboro. Fans blame Huds for giving the Eagles bulletin board material and not apologizing for his derogatory FCS comments he made in 2012.
Ga Southern vs Ark St in a rematch of the 1986 FCS national title. Same results again. Ga Southern 48 Ark St 21.
In 2012 you were not in the East or even the SBC. Therefore, these assumptions are cute and all but that is simply what they are, assumptions.
No one could accurately predict how Georgia Southern's 2012 team could have done in the SBC. You could have some clever guesses here or there but it is all speculation none the less.
Sargarin can ride flaming grocery buggy while sucking on a nail gun as far as I am concerned. I don't even care enough to spell the stupid word correctly. It is an atrocious, hideous, and evil creation brought upon the Earth to devour the poor minds of unfortunate people who cheer for unfortunate schools that are in unfortunate positions.
Do not delude yourself into thinking your team could even win six games at this level. Yes, that even includes the lowly damn SBC as so many of your fans are fond of telling us about. We have talent (excuse me, had talent) that blew their noses with the Georgia Southern recruitment letter envelope. Are all of our players high grade? Hell no. That doesn't change the fact that it is still a higher level of quality across the board and two deep.
All that being said, it is not impossible that those predictions would prove true. Perhaps had Georgia Southern played with us in 2012 you would have finished on the top of the East. Perhaps, even, you beat a BCS team. It isn't unheard of and happens every year. But to assume, while playing better teams every week, that you would be successful at a consistent rate is a bold (and quite naive) statement.
As someone who is tired of this chest beating by our fan base.

It's amazing to me how people used to think USA fans were unrealistic when talking about their football future in the SBC. We only said we'd win an FBS game in our first FBS year. These Eagle fans are writing their name on the championship trophy already.

Well, they have been very successful playing at the FCS level, but haven't played too many FBS programs. They played Bama "tough", but that game was NEVER out of Crimson Tide's control. Never.

Never out of their control, but when it was 31-21 midway through the third, their fans were anxious especially considering they were still trying to get style points to make it into the BCS championship game. Also, we had a FG blocked for a TD which was a 10 point swing. Only time we have had a blocked FG for TD in our history.

I think you guys will probably make a 100% improvement by then.
Which means that you will win 2 games.

I have to agree with most of what this dude just said. We have plenty of reasons to believe that we could win a bunch of games imop, but the Sagarian rankings are not a part of that.

RE: 2014 prediction thread
I actually think we would stand a better chance of finishing near the top of that Eastern list if we were playing this year. McKinnon's experience and talents are going to be missed. There is always a learning curve with a new starting QB, especially in the 3-0 and that will be even more critical against this level of play.
Unless we blow a bunch of people out big in '13 and get the next guy a lot of reps under his belt, atleast the first half of the season could get rocky in 2014. Hope we get some OOC FCS teams mixed in with Gast to start off the season. I dont want to see Troy and App until later on.

In fairness, this isn't the same version of Georgia Southern you've seen either.
