I flew directly through that mess all afternoon today. Left St. Louis at 3:50 just as the afternoon convection had begun....a swift piloting job landed us in 45 mins at Midway. Damn i wish i had a tin roof on my house tonight. Nothing more relaxing in a storm.

Its not a landing, its a "drop a commercial jet onto the ground and slam on the breaks".

I think it is pretty fascinating both from the plane and watching from the ground. We came in from the southwest, and I swear you could almost jump from that height onto the rooftops of the buildings below.

That American jet a few years back tried to beat the storm landing in LR too. Did not turn out to be a wise decision.
