So who is going to go up to him and ask him why he doesn't give back and ask him about his kids he doesn't take care of like you people talk about? Or do we only go running to former athletes with my comments?

I don't talk of any of this. As far as that goes, I think the money he spends on child support is more than taking care of them. Then for giving back to NIU, give the man some time. I do like the humor though. I'd love to see him run someone who asks this over with his bowling ball legs though ha.

Give the man a break. He is showing an interest in NIU football and giving back by giving his time, in the past he has contributed money. How much money, I have no idea but some, his name is on some past gifts to the University.

I hope that he takes care of his financial future and the future of his kids first and NIU second. I thank him for the time and interest that he is showing in NIU football. I hope that his career is not done yet, that he signs with another NFL team, has a rebound in his career and that he earns a lot more money and that he is in a position to continue donating time and money to NIU.

I loved watching him play for the Huskies and I enjoyed watching him play for San Diego and Atlanta. I wish him nothing but the best.

I don't care how much money Turner does or doesn't give to NIU or anything that goes on in his personal life. If anybody actually said anything like that to him it would be rude and unbelievably out of line. Some of the stuff said about Turner on here is 100% worse than me saying I thought Schiller wasn't very good at NIU, and since apparently we all enjoy blowing whistles so much this is the perfect opportunity to do so with Turner.

...And to get back to the spirit of the original post, I was so excited to see this article today. I can't wait to see him. I've just been trying to figure out if my favorite Huskie of all time was The Burner or Harnish. So tough to choose. I can't wait til Friday! 03-cloud9

Burner bar none. My older brother went to NIU in 2001 when I was 10, we came to a game every year until 2005 and I went to games periodically before I came to NIU in 2009. The Burner was the guy that started my love for the Huskies, so it isn't even close for me, and I have some rlly good friends who have played the past few years. They may be some of my best friends, but Turner will always be my favorite.

This is a great step in the right direction to get him more involved with the football team and I don't mean just financially. Having your highest profile player ever back on campus is a great thing. I hope they have some recruits visiting this day.

Glad to see he's visiting the school.

Hoping to get the NIU players (well, former players) to sign my NIU book at this event.

I wonder how many openings they had before he was announced.

I'm not a fan of Mr. Turner. His "caring" for NIU is a little late IMHO but hey...whatever. I wish him all the best going forward.

My TWO favorite players of all time? Chandler and Garrett.

Well, it's also possible that Turner donated to worthy charities instead of NIU. We don't know the details so I'm not going to make any judgements on that. Anyway, better late than never.

Glad to have Turner back. Good to see our NFL players showing love for their alma mater like their Notre Dame and Michigan counter parts. Says a lot about the program.

Hope he stops at Tom and Jerry's to eat the shrimp basket, thats what I do when I go back to Dekalb...

You know I just noticed that Wolfe is not listed anymore for the attendees of the clinic in the Burner article.

Quote:Turner will join former Huskie and Super Bowl champion Ryan Diem (Indianapolis Colts, 2001-11), as well as 2012 NFL rookies Nathan Palmer (Indianapolis Colts), Pat Schiller (Atlanta Falcons) and Chandler Harnish (Indianapolis Colts) for the Huskies' inaugural men's football clinic.

That's kind of strange.

Yep, that's interesting. Wonder what happened there.

Sounds like someone can't let things go03-hissyfit

In all honestly, do you think Schiller cares what you say. He was probably just trying to give you a good ribbing.

Wonder if Wolfe will come to the Ladies day instead. I am sure someone on here would love that.

Wolfe tweeted he wasn't going anymore. I think Schiller tweeted he might skip out as well.
