Slot is $100k for all picks in rounds 11-40. If the team has money left in their bonus pool assigned for rounds 1-10, they can use it for the rounds 11-40. As well, using up to 5% over that pool for all picks is only a tax penalty and not draft pick losses, so teams will go over slightly to get the guy they want.

edit: And just for reference, right now with one guy in the top 10 rounds left to sign, the Nationals are $55k under budget. So, $155k is the biggest offer right now without penalty. If they push it to the limit before draft pick penalty (105% of budget), they could offer almost $292k.

I'm impressed with your understanding of how this works.

Well, Baseball America has all the info laid out. I should have mentioned them as the source of the info in my edit.

What a signing class of pitchers that year for Rice; Kubitza; Simms; and Taillon. May all 3 of them make an MLB rotation some day.

Don't forget Connor Mason. Before the injuries (first sufferred his Senior year in high school), he was arguably higher rated than Kubitza and Simms. Here's hoping against hope that his latest elbow surgery will have a lasting and positive affect, and he can live up to his potential and be a contributor for the next one or two seasons. He is the ultimate wild card for us.

That class also included Jamie Esquivel and Dickie Thon Jr. both of whom signed pro contracts. Add Esquivel and a healthy Mason to the pitching staff and Thon's bat to our lineup, and...

Esquivel had shoulder issues last year, and was released from the Orioles a few months ago.
