Second - they get angry as reality and the pain reemerges

Third - the next stage is trying to bargain your way out of this new reality

Finally - acceptance of the new reality and learning to live with it

It's kind of interesting to see where each of the posters is.

Unfortunately, everyones mind was made up the minute UNT and FIU let the door hit them in the ass....once that happened there was no sticking together. If you go back and check the several interviews by our AD you will find nothing but love for the belt. You will even find a statement by Farmer after the defections of MTSU and FAU along the lines of surprise that the 2 Universities left after all had agreed to stick together. The fact is, if the Belt as constructed 2 years ago had stuck together and added a TXST, Georgia Southern and Appalachian ST this would now be a very powerful mid major Conference. We did not start this but now everyone will have to play. The silliest part is everyone "moving up" on the gang of 5 level will end up paying big money to go where they were in the first place....all of this is nuts...

I think most of us were ok after FIU and North Texas left, because we felt that they were replaceable. Even FAU leaving wasn't a big deal but after Middle left, then the freak-out began which led to WKU soliciting prostitution of their school. I honestly don't know if this could have been avoided, because if the MUTS had not accepted the invite then WKU, stAte or UL would have.

So if we "solicited prostitution," does that make C-USA a bunch of hookers? And does that mean you're the spouse left home to take care of the kids?

Seriously though, I have not heard or read anything from WKU fans about not liking UL. In fact, most, if not all have tremendous respect for UL and their accomplishments/potential. Mathenis said he didnt' think ya'll would be a good fit for CUSA. I'm sure he has his reasons but personally, I loved the UL basketball rivalry back in the day, the football rivalry that was beginning to spin up between WKU and UL and no one can say anything bad about the gameday atmosphere at a UL football game. I don't have a clue what the future holds but I'm positive UL will be successful regardless of the conference.

Actually, that's the difference between us. I KNOW who Georgia Southern is and the challenges we face moving to FBS. UL-L fans are under some delusion that 2 good seasons and always being 1A makes you too good to associate with us.

If you think lower tier FBS is so much better on the field than top tier FCS, you're that much more delusional. Ask any AD of any FBS school ranked below 60 if they want to play Montana, ND St, Delaware, App St, Ga Southern, etc.

HELL NO! will be the answer just like it was from Scott Farmer when our former AD tried to get a game. Why take the risk of getting your ass kicked by a" lowly" FCS school?

UL-L is the school I look most forward to playing.
