This has got to be one of the funniest incidents in Tiger B-ball history. The funniest thing is thow the announcers were hyping how Cal forewarned them about a walk-on wearing #15 without his name on his jersey just as the kid gets in the game. The kid promptly takes an airball 3 pointer , Cal sits him, and never plays another second in his whole career. Where did he come from, why did Cal put him in right before halftime of a game they were trailing on ESPN? Then never play the kid again, not even in mop up time? Gotta think Cal saw something in him and thought he could ball some. But, apparently all hope and potential went down the drain with that airball. There has got to be more to the story than that. I wonder if Cal never intended to put him in the game? Did he sneak in, and then promptly took the only shot that he knew he would ever get? Just crazy!!!!!

I think whoever was the PG at the time was in foul trouble. I would imagine by Cal's reaction that Chew was instructed not to shoot.

Everytime I see a thread on Chew I laugh my guts out.

I don't even think the kid was with the team ever again after that game. I don't remember seeing him on the bench in any of the games after that. Does anyone ever remember if he came out with the team after the half? It is like he got in the game, took that shot and then vanished.

He was working in a Madison Square Garden concession stand one minute, dressed out on the bench the next, and then before you could blink, he was in the game shooting his one and only shot of his career.

I wish that were true and we knew that much about him.
I keep thinking through the years someone had to have a class with him or he would read the boadr and tell someone the backstory.

It was never the shot, it was the Houdini act that followed.
