STOP saying I am trolling just want memphis to win one. Tired of these teams we are better than win or beat us for it. We are way past due for one. If we don't win one when Skal and Newman I am going to be pissed.

You can want Memphis to win one, and not degrade that just won all at the same time...

RE: Could this get any worse?
Relax guys... the same team barely beat Florida International, Southern Miss and South Florida... some of the worst teams in the country last year. And lost to UConn and got blown out by Syracuse.

Someone's going to slay Louisville next year. Especially since high expectations for a team usually has a way of producing at least one upset, because they don't take a game as seriously. Just ask #3 Florida.

We just need another AAC team to really put all the pieces together. A lot of new blood, new coaches... never know.

Yes I agree Memphis is way past due. To me they are the best program to have not won it all.

Here is the way I see it. Pastner is a great recruiter, but lacks in coaching. That's not his fault, it's coach cows fault he didn't teach Josh enough. That's JMhO. If I was in Charge of Memphis AD, i'd give Josh 2 or 3 more year's to put it together. If he can't get Memphis to at least the E8 in the next 3 year's. I would let him go & find another coach.

Memphis doesn't lack in great basketball talent. They lack in coaching fundamentals.

Can Josh get it together, yes he can. Will he, time will tell.

That is all I was trying to say. Cal tanked the championship and the year after then bails with recruits that were like his 2011 championship team. We should already have 2 in this decade. Congrats cards winning last night.

RE: Could this get any worse?
How it could get worse?
You could lose more teams. Cincy and UConn come to mind.
You could be limited to CUSA teams to replace lost teams. (Not really, UMass and Army are still there.)
Your champion could go to the Russell Athletics bowl with 1 other or no other major conference bowl tie ins.
Your televised football games could be on days other than Saturday.
Your basketball tournament early rounds could not be picked up by the ESPN. (ESPN3 or local only)
Louisville could find a way to leave in 2013. (Not going to happen)
You could add some non-football schools and go back to a hybrid
You could have to sign 2 for 1s just to get a major conference team to play you.
You could have to agree to 1 and done's at major conference teams.

It can always get worse. And probably will with the upcoming bowl re-alignment. How many major conference tie ins did the old CUSA have?

I thought UK was what was wrong with college basketball but Ville took it a whole new level with how they foul without it getting called down the stretch of the game. What kind of team undercuts other players??

Those 2 games had the worst officiating that I've ever seen. I'm ok with a little hand checking but they were playing Lebron ball. I hope the entire league hacks the sh1t out of them next year.

You must not watch much basketball then.

Just bitter bitter bitter. Home from Atlanta and I still don't see an asterisk next to anything. 04-cheers

what's funny is for all the bitching about no-calls UL actually had more fouls called on them (22) than Michigan (15). Congrats on a hell of a year. 04-cheers

Hard fouls are one thing, missed/blown calls in a national championship or semi-final game is another thing. The sad thing is that all those kids worked hard and the refs were too much a part of all 3 games. I guess I'm bitter because I don't like refs missing calls.

Do you realize how ridiculous this sounds?

Louisville just finished an AMAZING run of success for the Big East. Sugar Bowl and NCAA basketball champs? Memphis has never experienced either of those outcomes in football or basketball in any of the years you've competed in them, and they just did it in one year!

Stop eating the sour grapes and give credit where it is due. 04-cheers

Memphis has had 6-7 teams capable of winning it all in basketball man. It's college basketball and things happen. Key stat is we haven't won the big one and that needs to change. I think it eventually will. Josh has us on the right track and next season should be one of the most talented teams we have had since the 07-08 team. We just need to get a late big or 2 to add depth and to help that actually play with intensity. I'm excited for it.

As far as Louisville is concerned I am happy for them. To me personally they are hands down the most successful athletics program this year. I didn't know what to expect from the Louisville vs Florida Sugar Bowl but I came away extremely impressed with the ass beating they handed Florida.

In basketball they just won the Men's National Championship and that is not easy. They have 10 Final Fours and 3 National Titles. Both are great accomplishments. I for one will give credit where credit is due. Louisville made a commitment 20 years ago and it is paying off.

Their women's basketball team just finished #2 in the country. Their other sports are very respectable as well, they have what top 15 teams in both baseball and softball?

What a year for that University.

Now having said that. Be ready for a couple ass beatings next season Cardinals!

Hey, it took over a year for that asterisk to appear...I don't see how the NCAA could clear Rose to play twice...but then change their mind after the season.

Actually the NCAA cleared him THREE times that season. We self reported that a grade of his had been potentially changed in high school, and they still said he was ok to play.
Funny, the guy who hit us with that 'strict liability'....his old program at Miami was dirtier than everyone else.
After it was all over...he was offering up the same sad excuses as the people he hammered the hardest as NCAA Enforcement chair.
