RE: Spring Football
It may have been said already, but when did Rascatti join us? Was it spring/summer?

RE: Spring Football
Little help from somebone in the know please: I notice that Dean Cheatham was listed on the 11-12 roster as a freshman. Obviously he red-shirted that first season. But I don't see him on last season's roster or on the 2013 roster. Folks have been talking about his performance this spring, but I had assumed he had left the program for some reason. Is he a r-fr or r-so this coming season? what happened with him this past season? I loved his high school high light reel- tough, bruising runner with some speed it appeared.

also, someone show me some love after d-bag razor sabotaged my rating!

Sounds like he's the only RB playing meaningful minutes on Saturday, right?

Should just put Lafonte T. back there since he has been a bust at QB so far

They're going to have to put SOMEONE back there since they already said DQ will be mostly held out, and everyone else is injured.....

RE: Spring Football
Is anyone else slightly concerned that we apparently have 5 injured running backs... from spring practice? What, did they get hurt in the weight room?

I'm not up on spring football traditions or spring games in general. I know it is a big deal at many schools where the game is televised and well attended. But I was wondering if it is common practice to hold out a lot of players in spring- other than the obvious injuries ie. Daniel Brown. Is fear of injury a factor than normally limits participation in spring fb?

RE: Spring Football
I don't think it's common practice to hold everyone out. I thought it was just the opposite--a chance to start to work on offense and defense for next year! Can't do that with 4th and 5th stringers....

RE: Spring Football
Increasingly, Mickey has taken to holding key players out of contact to prevent injuries. He already knows what his returning stars like Scott can do. Why risk injury? Use the opportunity to see what others can do. 1AA doesn't allow enough scholarships to be 3 and 4 deep at key positions.

Nothing wrong sitting out the players you already know are going to be in the lineup. Let's see what those R-F are going to do. Whose ready for some football?

I'm not 100% sure on this, but when he did get here the language used was 'transfer' and I don't recall hearing the term 'walk-on'. Could be mistaken.
