I don't believe JMU is interested in the Sunbelt. Liberty and Lamar are both inferior in football to JSU. JSU is also a much better geographical fit than any of the other three. We need to raise some money but that will be much easier to do as a FBS program than as a FCS program. I personally think a student fee will be necessary also as we currently do not have one and I think most of the Sunbelt does. JSU's coming and troy state will just have to get used to it. 04-rock

I could agree with everything you said except for the geographical fit. I would say that both liberty and Lamar are both on par geographically. Hell Lamar is right between TxSt and ULL. It just depends on whether the conference want to add from the east or west. I would say the situation is completely unpredictable at this point. Especially with Benson's latest statements.

JSU's Facilities other than the Football press box. They are light years behind TROY and most everyone else in the SBC in facilities.

Troy city population= 18k

Thats the only reason.

AND then there is the UAB factor...Just like theres the USM factor for USA. The same factor JSU has with TROY and USA.

Bowling Green, KY = 58,584, not exactly a thriving metropolis either, wouldn't you say?
