App and Georgia Southern currently display I-AA championship banners on flag poles. There is a debate raging on GSUfans as to what to do about the flags in 2014 and beyond. What is your opinion?

Does Troy acknowledge their D2 championships?

Do Marshall and Boise State acknowledge their I-AA championships?

I still don't know how I feel about this to be honest.

All I can think of is respect the past and welcome the future.

Win games and replace your D-IAA champs with Sun Belt Championship flags. Then you can replace them with Gof5 championship flags.

I don't give a damn if you're a BCS team, it's never beneath you to acknowledge what you've accomplished and where you've been. This shouldn't even be a question.
I would be livid if JMU tried to discredit the 2004 I-AA National Championship. Hell! I just drove by on I-81 on saturday and we still have the 2004 championship sign up! Granted, some once young trees have grown larger in front of it and it's less visible.

I remember seeing NDSU showing banners saying they're a six time national champion across various divisional levels and listing the years. It was a combination of D2 and I-AA titles, but titles none the less. Your'e literally 2 weeks removed from I-AA, don't act like it's suddenly beneath you. You're better than that.

Still waiting to hear from current FBS members.

I am now convinced that yall Ga Southern folks are a mess. If stAte stays in the SBC for another three years, at least we can look forward to seeing your board go into meltdown mode during football season. Yall are going to have a rude awakening, and no one will be surprised but you Southern folks.

Oh, and to answer your question, leave the damn banners up. You don't remove old banners just because you move to another conference or division.

Texas State had displayed the two DII National Championships painted on a wall in the stadium.

No, this is a very serious topic on GSUfans.com. Cliff was not intending to create a "look at me" thread.

FAU still has thier old banners up in the Arena for Basketball and other "Court" sports.

I say keep em up. Your school earned them and they are a proud part of your schools history.

Troy still has their National Championship years on the scoreboard IIRC.

Ok. I'm trying to learn you guys and which ones are the "look at me" type. Please take no offense.

But my stance still stays the same. You earned them, you fly them.

Moving to another division or conference doesn't mean that you never won those past games. Keep the banners up, unless you had to vacate wins from that season or something. Now tell that to your Ga Southern friends and end that silly argument on page 14.

I voted to acknowledge them in a different way. I have no problem if they stay on the flag pole. Never forget where you came from.

I didn't see it as such. There are posts out there with that intent but I don't think this is one of them. I think we're a little oversensitive on this site sometimes. I remember a time when I couldn't post even the smallest good thing about my school without someone telling me I was "chest-beating."

Yes, to answer the original question, Troy has a banner atop the "Jumbotron" that proudly displays our NCs.

Some of the accusatory "look at me" responses are the very reason I wanted the opinion of current FBS members.

My thoughts were along the lines of I-AA accomplishments mean diddly in FBS, so the banners should be acknowledged elsewhere like the stadium facade FOC Building and the banners displayed in the Hall of Fame.

App has the same issue and I know Troy has D2 championships. Does anyone know what Marshall and Boise do?

Are SLC Conference Championships on public display?

I can't do anything about some of our fans/posters making us all look like chest-thumping idiots, but I don't want future visitors thinking we're still I-AA. I don't know what FBS schools do.
