I just went homer since I have no idea, and if hasn't happened yet may not until 2014.

It would have to be Arkansas State or UL if it is going to happen soon. I am not saying we will be the best team in the league again but at our level, being ranked is all about a momentum of perception. You have to have repetition of successful seasons to change the perceptions in the monds of voters.

If stAte starts 4-0, we will be ranked. Getting to 4-0 is not going to be easy.

4-0 against Pine Bluff, Auburn, Troy and Memphis is not worthy of being ranked. Barring all of them being undefeated aside from the one loss to you guys, I just simply do not see it and I don't see Auburn being good enough to beat Wazzu, Miss State and LSU(in BR) and losing to you guys. If you beat Auburn they're probably 1-3 after four weeks. In order for Troy to be 3-1 they'll have to win in Starkville, not impossible by any means, but if I were putting money on it today I'm taking Miss State and I'd expect you are too.

So...do you honestly believe 4-0 with wins over Pine Bluff, a 1-3 Auburn team and a 2-2 Troy team(wins over UAB and Savannah State) deserves a top 25 ranking?

Absolutely. Voters vote based on their "feelings" and the back to back seasons have put ASU on the cusp of the top 25 two years in a row so the 4-0 mark will get us over the hump regardless of the opponents.

Winning back to back SBC titles probably isn't even a thought in the far reaches of any of the voters minds.

You could ask 100 people not connected to the SBC that question and maybe 2 out of 100 would know Ark St won back to back SBC Championships and they would have to be college football geeks that keeps up with every little detail.

Hell you could probably go on the ASU campus and ask 100 student who won the last 2 SBC football championship and be lucky to get 50 that knows the answer. More likely 25% or under

I'm not being a a a-hole that's just the way it is. Most fans couldn't tell you who won the MAC and they went to a BCS bowl.

The only school with a chance to be ranked at 4-0 and most likely it would take 5-0 would be WKU. When we beat uk and Tenn, you can look at espn, yahoo, fox, cbs or any of the blogs and you will see Western Kentucky University right on the front page of their web site.

The BP watch will be in full affect and honestly if we do get ranked it will have everything to do with BP being our coach. Other wise it would take a 8-0 start to get in the rankings..if then

At 4-0 Ark St has zero chance of getting ranked

Pine Bluff (no one is going to give ASU a ounce of respect for beating them

Auburn (SEC but coming off a 3-9 season not going to impress many voters if any

Troy (just another SBC school to most voters and a 6th place one at that..not that any voters would know that

Memphis (again..who? that's what the voters will be saying. One of the worse programs in CUSA

Honestly, without being a homer do you think any school should be ranked after those 4 wins?

FIFY - and let me add that App State is the hands down favorite to win crystal footballs for the next 500 years at least. No one compares. I have a whole room devoted to their memorabilia where I worship them daily.

FIFY (the above change is a joke - of course)

My only point was, and I don't think you meant it this way, was that when you said "since it hasn't happened yet, it may not happen until 2014." it could be read as, "the only way it's not App is if it happens before we(App) join, because we'll be ranked in our first season."

My point was, it may happen this year, it may happen next year, or it may not happen for another decade or more.

No, sir. App State is on course to win a Lombardi Trophy. You're the next NFL expansion team. I heard it on Twitter.

04-cheers

I kid App State.

Not completely true, USC could be 0-4 playing those teams and get ranked. USC and Notre Dame could literally be winless and still be in the "others receiving votes".
