According to Ryan Autullo on twitter, Ryan Pedon is heading to Illinois to become the Special Assistant to the Head Coach. Will involved video work, advanced scouting, etc.

I thought it was a coup when we got him from Miami. I guess it shouldn't be surprising, but I was hoping we'd hang on to him a bit longer.

It's a non-coaching position, but a foot in the door if he wants to be in the B10.

Losing Ryan Pedon is a shame especially it being for a non-coaching position... Have had a chance to get to know him a bit these last few years , and you would be hard pressed to find a more energetic, outgoing person ... He also knows the state of Ohio very well, and has excellent contacts with high school coaches... Going into a big 10 situation is understandable maybe for long term ramifications... But I sure would not mind seeing RP back at Savage as a HC down the road, if, and when, coach K moves on...
