It started out about Gunner Kiel, what did you expect other than it to switch topics numerous times.

Let's try this.

If Kiel were to come to NIU, I wonder what affect that would have on "ATTENDANCE" ?Fuel To The Fire

(I really love using that new smilie. Thanks GTS.)

It would dramatically increase attendance if there is proper marketing.

Attendance would really get better if they removed the pig dog statue which would surely attract bigger name opponents into Huskie stadium that would cause the West side fans to stand during the game and keep the East side fans in the stadium longer which could cause NIU to add more seats to 30,000 capacity. no more discussion needed hah

Indiana has plenty of crooked politicians and dumb ones too. Murdoch; the sale of the Indiana tollway to the Australian firm who have done a crap job of maintaining it will tolls keep going up and Indiana's top election official being convicted of voter fraud

http://www.npr.org/blogs/itsallpolitics/...oter-fraud

License plates in Indiana are priced depending on the purchase price of the car you drive and they make the $100 we pay look like pocket change.

Indiana also has only 16 public colleges and universities vs the 57 we have.

$100 license plate fee is a bargain compared to what I pay...in Illinois.

Illionois is filled top to bottom with crooked politicians. We are the worst in the nation.

Taxes are high, and we pay more for gasoline than anywhere in the country. Chicago is almost at the point of taxing the air we breathe.

Let's not even get into the financial mess the state is in. Illinois is in such a deep hole - with the worst bond rating - that we will all pay through the arse if we are ever to get out of this mess. Meanwhile, teachers and government workers are worried about a retirement that they thought was secure.

Illinois cannot pay its bills. State employees are crying that it takes 9 months for their doctors to get paid under the state insurance. Some doctors are pulling out of accepting Cigna.

I dislike Chicago. If I did not work in the city, I'd rarely, if ever, be here. There is nothing in Chicago that I can't get in the suburbs - and a lot cheaper. Yet, outside of Chicago, there is NOTHING in this state. Tourism? Nothing here to attract anyone.

In Indiana, there are festivals, cultural events, and tourist things to do all over the state. When we want something nice to do or go on a little get-away, Indiana is where we go. It is unbelievable what fun we have in Indiana. Of course, it's no Michigan or Wisconsin, but Indiana is a thousand times better than Illinois.

Three more years and we are out of this pisshole of a state.

Chicago is widely regarded as one of the better international city's around, cleaner, friendly, lots to do... additionally, nobody I know I know goes to Indiana for recreation if Wisconsin or Michigan is an option (which it always is). Have fun living in Indiana, and thanks much for bashing my home state.

It's my home state, too. I was born and have lived here my entire life. I thought I had seen it all here, but it just gets worse and worse. Michael Madigan and his fellow crooks who have run Illinois into the ground can have the mess they created.

Granted, Michigan is a paradise, but I want to still be within close driving distance of NIU and my friends. We do have several friends who live in Indiana. They moved from Illinois and won't move back. Northwest Indiana has anything and everything I need, including fine theater, entertainment, the arts, and great restaurants.

Indiana has more strip clubs...if you can accept this as a source:

http://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.p...ic=61715.0

Indiana has almost twice as many strip clubs per capita than illinois.

It just depends where you are at in Indiana just like it depends where you are at in Illinois. There are GREAT communities in Indiana, Im stuck in the country (BFE) of north central Indiana, and I do have to say its not a great place to live. There are worse places though.

"Kiel has proven that he has trouble sticking by his decisions. In high school, Kiel, who was also recruited early by Alabama, verbally committed in July 2011 to play for the Indiana which is close to his home in Columbus, Ind. Then Kiel changed his mind and committed to LSU. He later changed his mind again just prior to signing day in 2012 and decommitted from the Tigers. On National Signing Day, LSU coach Les Miles publicly criticized Kiel for not having the “chest” to stick by his commitment. Kiel did sign with Notre Dame before being redshirted this past season.

Kiel is set to soon commit to his fourth school in less than two years. Unless he transfers to a lower division school, Kiel will have to sit out next season regardless, meaning he will go two full seasons without playing since he redshirted this past fall at Notre Dame. Even though he will have three seasons to play once he finally gets settled, it is unknown what effect the long layoff will have on Kiel’s ability to perform on the field. Does a coach really want to take a chance on a quarterback who has not seen the field since he was a high school senior?"
