That's what was so hard to take about the series. USM was 9-0, but up until the beatdown, I think the average margin of victory was around 5.

Those were brutal, physical, exciting, and for UAB fans, heartbreaking games.

Hell, until Atwater's pick 6, I fully expected you to go the length of the field in a minute and a half and break our hearts. Again.

That OT game in Hattiesburg may be the wildest, most exciting game I've ever personally witnessed.

That was my first trip down, and USM fans were top shelf.

I think I along with many MT fans would agree that Louisville fans were some of the worst fans ever encountered back when we did a 3 game football series with them.

I was at that first game win by you guys in Birmingham. It looked all game long that you were going to win. The breaking of Davis's ankle was the proverbial straw.....

We've run up a nice 3-1 record against USM in C-USA, and I would like to see that extended into something really dominating if we share the West with the Golden Eagles.

I think USM will be our biggest rivals, not because of hate, but because of mutual respect. I think respect makes for a much healthier and fun rivalry, while hate takes the fun out of it. Many years ago we had a rivalry with ULL that I considered healthy and normal. The past few years the relationship between the fans has turned toxic. It is not healthy and definitely not fun.

That was the Schnellenberger "The NC goes through louisville" year (I believe).....problem was, that top notch ul team had to go through Hattiesburg.

I don't hate anybody. That said, I wouldn't be too disappointed if Stockstill keeps his foot on the gas against Memphis in the fourth quarter. He let up on them last year.

Some Card fans have a special room dedicated to them in the College Athletics Arrogance Hall of Fame. They are no longer in the voting each year, their #1 jersey has been retired.

We were the only team to beat Louisville that year. Had to hold on for dear life after having a three touchdown lead in the first quarter.

The second most arrogant fans in the world having their team lose to you guys, and then go out and beat the team withe the most arrogant fans in the world.

I can see ODU and Charlotte being a good basketball and football rivalry, as well as ODU and Marshall.
