I can't believe he's still the coach.

He is a loser in the first degree. He is damn lucky one of his players didn't smack him upside the head. He certainly deserved it. If Rutgers doesn't fire him, they are sending the unfortunate message that they approve of his tactics.

He's lucky he didn't get hit. I read one sports writer say that coaches in other sports could use that as a negative recruiting tactic against Rutgers - if their AD lets that go in basketball, what does that say about the university and athletic department?

The Rutger's AD is reconsidering his decision to suspend Rice rather than fire him.

Of course...now that the rest of the country has seen what he tried to sweep under the rug. The AD should be out as well.

I'm surprised one of his players didn't lay him out. What a tool...

One more interesting article about the Rice case.

I think Rice's behavior is abhorrent, but it seems like this writer is just using the situation to write another "pay the players" story.

Good. Now the President and AD should be scrutinized for only suspending him in December.

The AD and president are real ***holes. Only fired because the tape went public. Same with the coach. Now he's apologizing. He'll show up as an assistant somewhere after laying low for a year.

Welcome to the Big $0.

The real question should be whether or not this will be a wake up call for other coaches (head or assistant) and administrators in college athletics at other schools because if anyone thinks this is an isolated case at Rutgers is smoking some great weed. B1G, SEC, MAC, ....... It doesnt matter. Its going on at other schools.

Also, Rutgers is getting paid back now for crying foul when nasty comments were made towards their womens bball team a couple years back and they demanded an apology. Karma is a *****.

Seriously? You think demanding an apology for THOSE comments incited "karma?" You don't think Rutgers was not only in the right but morally required to demand apologies for what was said? Those comments were disgusting.

Pappylizard: seriously, re-think that post.

East....you either missed my point or I didnt make it well enough. Let me try again.

Like I said those were nasty comments by Imus regarding the Lady Rutgers team. The karma IMO is that the administartion stood by their ladys team as they should have but under the same roof at nearly the same time they had a lawless coach in Rice making defamatory comments towards their own student athletes and when they (AD and admin) found out about it they tried dusting it under the rug. The karma is that it finally became public and now they (Rutgers AD and others in admin) look like stone throwing idiots living in a glass house.

DetroitRocket - what's the point in posting that? Now some other posters are going to take that article and run with it.

Removed, but it's not something that isn't easily found.

I hadn't heard about that (or maybe I just don't remember it???), but I just know that a poster from another school or 2 would take that article and make a big deal out of it on the main board, like a Miami fan did with the recruiting video.

Wonder if there was any pressure from the B14, nice way to make a splash into a new conference by having one of your premier programs making national news - for the wrong reasons.

RE: OT: Rutger's Rice Berates Players at Practice
Who wants to bet that Eric Murdock, the former director of player development for Rutgers, will not be able to get a job in the NCAA now because he will be blackballed by other coaches for turning in his (former) coach. That's another sad thing that will come from this.

Just like Coach K at Duke said he would never hire the assistant coach from Baylor who recorded the head coach when he (HC) tried to get other players and coaches to lie about Patrick Dennehy (who was murdered by another teammate) and say he was a drug dealer to cover up the money that the head coach had given to him.

That has to be the worst comparison I've ever heard. Also, Rice wasn't their coach when those comments were made.
