Nichols' Rockets were only MAC team to beat us in 1975-76.

Toledo had been an also-ran in MAC basketball until Nichols took over.

After that, any time you beat UT, you had accomplished something.

His 1966-67 team featuring Steve Mix was one of MAC's best-ever.

That Mix squad had one of the most notable flakes around. John Brisker.

ABA star, NBA playa. Reportedly executed in Uganda fighting as a mercenary for Idi Amin. Put that on your resume!

Don't think he had to worry about a resume anymore.

Conversely, Bob Nichols left quite a legacy!
