RE: Should The Big East and The AAC play?
I think it's pretty simple...If I'm Xavier/Butler/Creighton, there is no way I ever schedule a team from the conferences that the schools left.

The two leagues that lost teams to make up the Big East are going to have a very difficult time getting OOC games unless they have some frequent flier miles.

My expectations would be that The Xavier - Cincinnati game will continue

It will for 2013 at US Bank. I doubt it'll go after the 2 year neutral site deal.

No, the reason we left is because we didn't want to play those teams. We should try to work with Fox to get a challenge with another Fox property like the Pac-12.

Yawn. When's the last time St. John's has made the tournament? Dumpster fire of a program.

Don't bet against a Butler/VCU home and home next year...

Games against Memphis, Temple, UConn and Cincinnati would get more TV appearance for both the New Big East and the AAC. It is case of it helps both of you to play. 04-cheers

I disagree. Both conferences will try to prove that they are still elite basketball conferences. They won't want to play (and lose) to the other because the pundits would say one conference would be better than the other.

It's all about perception for the first few years of both leagues. is it possible they play 5 years down the road? Sure, but I doubt anytime soon.

Also what about the other 6 teams? They are left to play SMU, USF, UCF, ECU, Tulsa and Houston.

I don't think there is any value in scheduling a challenge series, but as a Georgetown fan I would love to keep playing Syracuse (of course), UConn, and Cincy, and wouldn't mind games against Temple and Memphis either.

The rest of the AAC? No thanks. 07-coffee3
