OT: New Trail Downtown in old Railroad Line

The Rotary Club is paying for this project as part of their 100 year anniversary. It starts at 20th St next to the Cityville apartments. I think this would be a really cool project for downtown

Excellent. I look forward to it.

Any idea on a completion date and cost? Or is it just a concept at this point?

Memphis did something similar to this in 2010, creating a biking nd running trail that will eventually run from downtown to Shelby Farms. First phase is complete and the Greenline runs about 7 miles.

Rotarty said it will cost about $4.5M and they are fundraising for it now. Hope to have construction bids out by the summer and have it done by the end of 2014 or early 2015.

I do too. Thanks for posting that. Great concept. Since we are doing some things with the city I will ask about it.
