I agree but many people bitched about the money NIU "lost" on the Orange Bowl

I guess we'll just have to hope that more than 3,266 fans buy their NCAA tourney tix through NIU.

I also find it funny that LaSalle hasn't been back to campus since the Tourney started, so they've missed two weeks of classes (already had Spring Break). But people complain that a real football playoff would take kids out of class too much, even though most schools are on winter break at the time.

Because the revenue sports are there for revenue and exposure for the school, not to turn out the best students. It's a joke to suggest otherwise.

The athletes in the revenue sports, for the most part, get steered to the less demanding classes and degrees.

And if it were really about education, sports would never have progressed past the club level in the first place.
