Great news for Creighton. He makes us a contender next year, we also still have one scholie open and are a finalist for Eli Carter. This also helps our recruiting "catch up" to Big East standards for 2014 and 2015.

Carter would be huge. Either way big day for Big East

Very true, Doug admitted today that going to the Big East was a big part of the decision.

I think the fact he was like #46 on one of those mock draft boards had a lot to do with it as well quite frankly.

To be fair, if you look at all the draft boards, he ranged from like 17-40s.

Winning the Big East in their first year would be a real shot in the arm recruiting wise for his father. He can walk into every kids house and say that not only do they belong but they are a power program in the Big East.

We're not going to win the BE outright. We'd need to fix a problem or two here in recruiting for next season and then have some positive breaks occur in-conference throughout the season. It'd be kick ass from my perspective, but I'm thinking it's less than a 20% chance.

That's up from zero, though, which is what our BE title chances would have been had he went pro.

I agree, I think we are top 4 probably in the Big East with McDermott back. If Gibbs gets his 6th year of eligibility, then MAYBE a chance to win the Big East but that is highly unlikely. The key is that having McDermott back continues our momentum of success and allows us to get our recruiting in 2014 and 2015 to Big East standards.

I'm not saying they will, just that him staying gives them that chance. No one knows how this next season will work out. Will be very VERY interesting.
