They're very real. I recognize three of them.

ETA: Upon further review, five of them.

The other thing I noticed is that I think those wire benches (or that style) were still there in the courtyard in the late 80s.

Isn't that PTH back there in that fringed jacket?

Definitely real students--I went out with Mary Ann once and Josh is a good friend.

I did not recognize the people but the clothes were not likely to be seen around Rice. Nobody would have been wearing a $150 buffalo hide jacket because that would be like a student wearing maybe a $750 jacket at 2013 prices. Also, Rice would not have a Greek letter culture like SMU or UT where students would go around showing off expensive clothes. Most of the clothing worn in that era was informal with most people wearing blue jeans (except for the few times coat and tie (male) or dresses (female) were required). The sex ratio stated out two males for every female with the college ratio even worse (6 male and 2 female)[/u] until 2 male colleges were made co-ed.

Really? The prices look familiar to me. I'll splurge on an $11 shirt now and then (I mean now, not then). To wit, this is the Rice that I remember...
