What we all should be seeking!
Here's what all of us G05 fans should be rooting for:
1. MAC..stay as you are. You're just fine.
2. CTBA - Get Tulsa and Navy on board and hope for stability. You have a fine conference in place that anyone would be proud of.
3. CUSA - Get WKU in place, and stop...and hope for stability. There are the makings of a very fine, competitive conference here. I see no reason to go to 16, like some have speculated.
4. MWC - Just stop. You're in great shape
5. SBC - Replace WKU when they leave with a school of your choice and stop. Again, you have the makings of a very fine, very competitive conference.
What we should ALL be hoping for is that this madness stops and we can all get on with our future for as long as we can.
Stop the carousel, I want to get off!

RE: What we all should be seeking!
There is one thing, I've asked repeatedly and as yet not one CUSA fan has responded to.
If CUSA takes WKU and only WKU how do you resolve the divisions?
The west division will be: UTEP, UNT, UTSA, Rice, La.Tech and .....
1. USM/UAM
2. WKU/MTSU
3. USM/WKU
Which way would it go? Other than maybe USM (who basically does not recruit Texas) none of the other three would seem to be happy in CUSA west and I have a hard time seeing Marshall, ODU, Charlotte and to a lesser degree FIU/FAU liking any of those options. I can't see WKU/MTSU happy about UAB being in the west. I don't see UAB being in the west and being happy or being in the east and happy that WKU and or MTSU is in the west.
How do you resolve that?

I'm fine in the West. I do think USM will have the final say-so of which side they want to be placed in.

Good points. Obviously I don't know the CUSA plans for divisions or even if they are inviting only 1 school after Tulsa leaves. Does 16 make sense? If so then ASU and ULL along with WKU would probably be what CUSA does. UAB could then stay east but USM would likely still be in the west division.
CUSA will continue to have outlier issues but those have not been insurmountable to date. UTEP way out west and FIU/FAU together quite a ways from everyone else. If the conference stays at 14, UAB is fine in the west with USM and only UTEP will be the western outlier.

I kinda like CUSA going to 16 with ark state and Ga state:
west: N texas, rice, UTEP, UTSA
south: La tech, Ark State, S miss, UAB
north: WKU, M Tn State, Marshall, ODU
east: Charlotte, Ga state, FA, FI
also like the mwc jumping to 12 with utep and utsa. Of course, neither probably happen.

Everything I've read about speculation is a split along east west lines with:
East: Marshall; ODU;Charlotte; WKU; MTSU; FIU and FAU
West: UAB; USM; LTU; NT; UTSA;Rice; UTEP
I don't think Marshall would be thrilled at that, only because both of their old conference mates are gone to the West. (Zero disrespect intended to anyone). But it's likely from what i hear.

The MWC already has 12 and I think they are full up for a while.

That is certainly the most logical solution but it is a very expensive solution for UAB and cuts them off from ODU, Charlotte, MTSU, WKU, schools you would think they lobbied hard to get in the league and cuts the off from Florida.
Travel-wise, USM does fine with going west, I suspect the coaches may not be that happy about it but with UAB coming along its not a total mess.
