Looking long term......better for JMU to trade 1-2 more year of FCS and wait for a MAC offer? Or go to the SBC now and then move to the MAC after 1-2 years?

SBC fans....do you want a school that clearly has their eyes set on another target? Even if JMU accepts a SBC offer now...they jump ship as soon as the MAC comes calling.

Does it make a lot of sense for the MAC for the MAC to slide in an offer JMU and all sport membership?

JMU has a budget over 30 million which is almost double the budget of the SBC. MAC budgets average around 25 million. I can see where the MAC would be interested.

Then with JMU down the road the MAC could target Appalachian State, Marshall or even ODU if CUSA falls apart. The MAC as you know is not going to fall apart.

I think JMU would love this. But the MAC has been so quiet....usually, SOMETHING leaks.

Given recent comments floating around that the MAC has given or is about to give UMass an ultimatum the league could be playing that card now in order to pair JMU as a possible #14 if UMass commits. All speculation but another very possible scenario.

Plausible. If this were the case, then the MAC presidents have already voted on JMU.

The MAC has historically not mades its expansion intentions public and most moves seem to be made without much lead up. I am pretty sure they have a plan in place behind the scenes. Whether it involves JMU I have no clue but it most certainly centers around UMass.

The MAC was not better than the SBC last year and it won't be in the future. It is stable because of it's region.

Lol....this dude literally campaigns. Holy crap!

If we want the MAC, we would be more likely to get it from the SBC than FCS.

And I can answer unequivocally, SBC fans want JMU over Liberty NO MATTER WHAT. Stop it.

SBC really turning up the heat on JMU. Closed session BoV meetings tomorrow with another BoV meeting on Friday.

If JMU is paying attention, they will see that the MAC is a better option for them. I could see them getting in the Metro East (New BE) a lot quicker if they went to the MAC (the Temple route). If they go to the Sun Belt, they would have to then go through CUSA to get there.

MAC and CUSA = 1 step to Metro East.
Sun Belt = 2 steps to Metro East.

You are nuts man. The MAC champ was in the Orange Bowl last year and we had four different teams ranked in the top 25 at some point during the year. The Sun Belt has never had one team crack the top 25, ever. If your only basis why the Sun Belt is better is the Sagarin your thinking is totally flawed. And you just lost half your league to CUSA.

The distance from JMU to the Metro East is about a light year. So that step is gonna be a doozy whether it is first or second.

Your credibility is going down. LU has not become a member, yet you are still posting. Is this the same integrity we can expect if LU makes it into the league?

After initially rejecting Sun Belt, JMU now said to be reconsidering the offer after efforts to join C-USA and MAC have stalled.

I am basing it on the whole conference. If the revenue distribution model had been in place last year, the SBC would have finished ahead of the MAC and CUSA.
